                      • The Australian Army Retired it's Leo 1's not too long ago, and shipped them to various community locations around the country to become memorials.

The sign on the front of it "Please climb on this memorial" is actually the result of someone having the same shade of paint as the background of the sign. Every now and again you see workers inserting the words "Do Not" back onto the sign, only for them to be neatly painted over again.

Every Kid wants to ride on the tank, although, I suppose, the council goes through the motions for Public Liability reasons... As long as someone keeps painting over the words "Do Not" the council will keep restoring the words. The Kids get to climb on the tank, the council gets plausible denial, the locals get the satisfaction of giving the kids some fun, and the RSL gets exposure. It's a Win, Win, Win scenario... I suppose!

                        Here's the blurb

Co-ords if you want to see what part of the world this is in (Google Earth or whatever)

                          • Yesterday on the 'working holiday', whilst walking down the street, we got invited to come out on the Cray boat in 15 Minutes. Have been out before, this time I grabbed the Camera.
Testing the Camera on water shots. We headed out towards the Island and to Drop a Marker.

                            Saw some Dolphins busy hunting.

The Cats were still moving despite almost no wind.

This is the town where I've been working over the new years break - The wake is generated by an 800 Horsepower inboard Diesel.

This is the Island - with a Sealion colony. There are approximately 100 of them. It's a very small Island, Directly exposed to the Southern Ocean, the South Side takes a battering from large Seas - Next land mass is Antartica.

The Limestone structure lends itself to strange formations present all along the South Coast.

Aww hewwo Hans, Gweat to see you! Hanging around the harbour flogging bait of fish hooks.

He has at least 3 hooks in bedded in him

                            Following us into Harbour.

                            Getting ready for Mooring...

Really happy to get out, enjoy some more personal hospitality from a very public job. Second season in town. I want to organise a fishing Charter as well.

Google Earth Co-ordinates of the Island are:
                            37° 5'9.28"S
                            139°43'26.02"E
