The last "song" I listened to was TAPS last Sunday morning at a special memorial service to the 74 men who died when the HMS Melbourne cut the USS Frank E. Evans in two in 1969.

For some reason the government has not put up those names on the Viet Nam wall. The ship WAS on the gunline earlier, returned to Subic Bay to reload and was on general manuevers with the Australian Navy on the way BACK to the gunline.

Therefore, the Friends of the Navy (of which I am now chairman) have installed two large plaques honoring those men in our Navy Memorial Park behind the Long Beach Aquarium. My wife and I were proud to have been part of the ceremony.

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS.
