  • The reason I love WAB:

The debating and analytical skills the other posters in this forum have instilled in me. It's been a long slow process as I'm not quick off the mark, but once learned those lessons have stuck. Sometimes now in either work meetings or social situations I scare myself with my ability to debate, but am reassured that it's tempered by a developing tolerance of others views.
In the realm of spirit, seek clarity; in the material world, seek utility.

Well, that is due to the ingestion of Marmite over the years....

Nah, it's from an uncanny ability for placing my skull between my momentum and hard objects. Marmite is a marvelous restorative though....

              • Woo Hoo!

Dropped by South Coast casino for a lunch/bathroom break on my wqy to Mccarren to do some work for Korean Air in the new terminal. After a quick bite, dropped ten bucks on my favorite number (19) and it landed.

Ten seconds later, I'm 350 bucks richer and the best part about that is that the wife is not here!!!

I love all of you...yes, even tankie who said such mean things about me in the OOE thread!

                • You are lucky because the wife is gone with all your money but $10 and you won additional $340, but she is still gone with ALL the money?

Oh, Yello it is you, NM

                  • No, the wife is still in L.A. with all my money and she thinks I'm working my ass off.

An hour more of sitting around an empty terminal and then hitting the pool and a few hours at the tables....followed by going home and whining to the wife that I had a very rough two days.....

                    What's not to love, DoK???

I love you too..so don't bring me down.

                        • ^ Whiskey likes things well aged - preferably in an oak barrel... ;)

The thing I like best about the WAB is it's members - you make me think - I have to re-examine ideas that I've held onto for a long time and to let some of them go.

I also just want you guys to know that Albany also liked this post some 3 months after I posted it.

But, unlike Whiskey, he really didn't like it. He just did it for the hell of it and to see what kind of reaction he'd get out of me.

                            • Hi folks! This seemed to be the best place to begin posting on this forum because I'm first of all interested in what makes the forum attractive to members. However, when reading through the 17 reasons stated, a lot of them seemed quite frivolous and beside the point on why a person should like a forum.

Most alarming to me was the mention of 'troll' or 'trolling' because it's never easy to determine just exactly what the words mean to different people. In fact, what is a troll to one person can be nothing more than a differing opinion from his political POV. Much too often the charge of 'troll' is tossed around and used in a way to censor a person's opinion.

So my first objective on this forum will be to determine whether the term is being abused by some members and then to try to determine whether or not that abuse is being found acceptable by the moderation team. Hopefully not, but if so then it will not be a forum in which I wish to take part.

Is that a good place to start? Opinions of some of the members would be appreciated. Also, any moderators who would like to reply in private would be appreciated.
                              Cheers, monty1

Well, here's a freaking hint. Calling my friends racist means you're a damned troll.
