I love Barcelona. favourite city in the world. Iv'e got some friends there so it'll give us a soft landing. Yeah Frankfurt is DULL. Wen't on a hen a few years back (because ryan air flights were £25 - no other reason!).

As for London, nobody thinks that there will be a new european London. Whats happening is a slow bleed to Dublin, Frankfurt, New York, Paris and (suprisingly) Madrid.
Brexiteers can deny it, but the banks were not bluffing. Now that the PM has ruled out the single Market it's happening.

That's happening anyway...only have to look at what Peel holdings are upto.... 50 billion pounds worth of projects in the pipeline ...many of which have or are in progress.

I heard they are considering a tunnel under the peaks to Sheffield. Would be awesome, but would probably take them decades to drill it.

Hmmmmm. ..thats a future possibility. The new Runcorn bridge and roads are being built. New motorway section linking m56 to m6 being built. Liverpool 2 building in progress. Phase 1 of Salford port and relief roads being built. Widening of all railway lines on going and it goes on and on...only you don't get any of this on the news because it's good positive news.....and I only know about the north west.....Yorkshire do everything in tandem

Hostile Germany in THREAT to UK: We won't tolerate London's dominance post-Brexit says MEP

A GERMAN politician has issued an extraordinary threat to Britain over its economic future by revealing his party will vote down any Brexit deal which preserves London's status as the world's global financial centre.

Firebrand MEP Manfred Weber, who is head of the powerful European People's Party (EPP) grouping in the EU Parliament, expressed outrage at Theresa May's pledge to cut corporate tax rates if Brussels does not offer the UK a good deal.

Ah yes, the resident card allows him to stay, but unfortunately I don't think it allows him to work or access any services. I know in the Republic of Ireland after 3 years of residency we can pay €1000 and he can be naturalised, but we'll have too see depending on what country we end up in.

                              • Family members of EU citizens do not need a work permit to work regardless of nationality.

For "services" remember that most continental states don't run such nationalized services (like NHS) at all, but instead have mandatory insurance models.

Naturalization is up to the individual country and typically requires 6-10 years of legal residency plus language and integration tests of various kinds in most continental EU states.
