Update: Man arrested at Beaverfork for sexual misconduct | TheCabin.net - Conway, Arkansas

    By Megan Reynolds

A Morrilton man was arrested at Beaverfork Lake Tuesday morning after an on-patrol Faulkner County sheriff’s deputy caught the man in a compromising situation.

David Ray Cook, 56, charged with disorderly conduct, sexual misconduct and indecent exposure after the deputy reportedly caught him engaging in lewd sexual activity with inflated balloons.

According to officials, around 7 a.m. Cook was parked just off Arkansas Highway 25 by the fishing docks next to the lake. He was dressed as a woman, and had pornographic pictures taped to the windows of his car. Deputies also found sex toys and children’s clothing inside of the car.

Cook is currently facing charges in Van Buren County for rape, possession of matter depicting child sex, maintaining a drug premises, and manufacture, delivery and possession of a controlled substance.

Those charges stemmed from an incident in 2006, when prosecutors say Cook gave a 12-year-old girl crystal methamphetamine, then videotaped himself having sex with her in a camper.

According to court affidavits, an informant came forth with information in Aug. 2011 about the incident after allegedly attempting to buy drugs from Cook in Dec. 2010. The informant said that while at Cook's residence in Clinton, he viewed a portion of the video tape. The informant told an investigator that when he recognized the girl in the video, Cook removed it from the VCR.

Cook also reportedly told the informant that he had videos of other girls.

In an interview with investigators in 2011, the victim identified Cook as her mother's former boyfriend. According to the affidavit, she told investigators the abuse occurred when she was left alone with Cook and continued throughout the course of her mother's relationship with Cook.

In court, defense attorney Jerry Patterson has refuted the claims, contending that the informant is a felon and that information provided by the man was “insufficient” for bringing forth charges.

Cook was released from a Van Buren County jail in June on $75,000 bond.

A trial date set for Jan. 29 was rescheduled for 9 a.m. April 13 in Van Buren County Circuit Court after Patterson underwent a surgical procedure in January.

On Tuesday, Prosecutor Cody Hiland said he had filed a motion to revoke Cook’s bond.

That request could be heard as early as Wednesday, Hiland said.

Cook is currently being held in Faulkner County Jail.

By all means, book him and let him out on bond..AGAIN....so he can do it, or something worse again. Letting people like this out on the street is far more dangerous to society than any of my rifles and 30 round magazines.

Sadly, I still cannot figure out what he was doing with the inflated balloons. I mean...if he was doing what I imagine he was doing...wouldn't they pop?

Sadly? Personally I'm pretty pleased I have no idea. I have a pretty active imagination & I'm no prude, but I'd be worried if I could work out what this guy was up to. :confu:

Why was this child rapist only given such a short sentence? This guy is a danger not only to children, himself, but to hard working globophobics.

If I read the article correctly he hasn't gone to trial yet. The offences were only uncovered in 2010, the investigation was in 2011 & the trial was set for Jan.29. Unfortunately his attorney had to have surgery & the trial date was pushed back. He was out on a bond. I suspect that if you unpicked all of this you would find a court system jammed up with 'war on drugs' cases & a remand system so full of 'war on drugs' prisoners that a guy who most likely assaulted children gets to wait for trial on the outside.

How many times do we have to see a single mom's "boyfriend" abuse and rape young daughters?

And why, in so many cases, when the girl reveals this to "mom", the mother either doesn't believe it, or actually blames the daughter for the abuse? As in "you tried to steal my boyfriend."

A family needs a Dad. Dads will kill to protect their daughters. There's no way this scumbag would be diddling the little girl if her father was around.
