The status quo is worse in other words.

It is not violence in blood but in social & economic sense.

Keeping people degraded, demoralised, desperate and dependent on the state is a denial of their rights. Status quo is unacceptable.

Either accelerate to a new model or the current status quo collapses.

There is no maintaining it because it will snap at some point.

His name came up in a discussion about second decolonisation of India and the thinking was we preserve an old system that has run out of benefits and does not serve the people very well. It never was designed to serve the people but the rulers.

Yugoslavia was a Soviet client state. What happened in the 90s was a decolonisation.

I don't know if its first or second because Tito & Stalin split in the late forties so 90s is the second decolonisation.

It is amazing what a small number of determined people can do with a little bit of help and good will from the RAF. The Island of Vis was a strategic asset for both RAF and USAF for the Italian and Balkan theater of operations. Partizans were just a decor. The island itself was never occupied by Nazis, it was under Italian control. I will try to find out more about the history of the "resistance" and what actually happened there. Yugoslavia was never a Soviet client state, quite the opposite, it was the European aka Western project designed to undermine Russian/Soviet influence. Actually, I find all three of them to be very funny guys. All three of them declare themselves as leftists aka communists and communism is a global idea, so in a nutshell you have wannabe globalists aka communists arguing with the real globalists aka capitalists about whom should be in a (global) power. Problem is, that this "struggle" is both artificial and real. That is what makes it so tragic. One group of lunatics fighting another group of lunatics. You can also add a third group, "the religion of peace" whom also wants to be global power and the fact that they too were empire once doesn't seem to bother those self righteous leftist in the West whom are full of grief and self hatred.

But once Tito passed in 1980, for the next ten years the west said we've invested so much in your country, your govt and its now time to repay this debt.

This fomented the breakup of Yugoslavia.

Yes, there is that angle as well. The main issue boils down to the concept of Limitrophe states. Yugoslavia belongs to that concept and its disintegration also goes along these lines. Everything from that fallout also follows the limitrophe state. I am planning for some time to continue the thread but the work has been hectic due to covid pandemics and my obligations towards clients but situation is improving so I think that I will continue with the writings.

Problem is that official narrative that is often span about this subject, tries to oversimplify the situation and boil it down to god vs evil, where one side is absolutely good and other is absolutely bad. Once you establish that kind of coordinate system, things are pretty much self explanatory and various narratives can be established with an ease, simply because the coordinate system is based on faulty assumptions. Saying that US has pumped money into Yugoslavia and that when the time to repay came Yugoslavia was broke is true but that is not the cause for its demise. The very concept of Yugoslavia was set up to be a buffer state or limitrophe state. It was never meant to be a real state yet it was a mechanism created for certain, pre determined purpose and as such it has an expiration date. Because it is a construct, its an artificial object. Problem with the Serbs and their part in this whole story was that we, to the larger extent, started to believe that it was true. And for that we paid the price.
Also the official narrative is manipulative as hell. Recently I was working on the 90es analysis and when compared the narratives that describe that period, when compared with the facts, I've found huge discrepancies that severely undermine the whole story. For example, the demonstrations in Kosovo, in 1981 were described as the starting point of Milosevic's rise to power and how he used the Serbian nationalism that was feeding on Kosovo problem, to gain power. The narrative totally fails to mention what actually has happened during the 1981. It describes it as demonstrations of Albanian students that demanded that the province of Kosovo gets its status elevated to the republic and that Serbian authorities cracked down on them using the brute force. In the West, those demonstrations are seen as an expression of Serbian oppression (evil Serbs torture poor freedom loving Albanians). Even US Congress passed the statement that it was worried about violation of human rights in Kosovo at the time. However, those "demonstrations" were not demonstrations at all, it was full armed rebellion that was fought both in Kosovo and all over the world. In Albania two bombs were detonated in the Yugoslavia embassy compound. In Brussels there were two terrorist attacks on Yugoslavian diplomats, leaving one dead and three wounded, at the end those " demonstrations" ended with the suicide of Albanian prime minister. But again, I will get to those things, the thread is still in 19th century.

Well, it appears that I will be able to continue the study after this long pause. The moment could not be more right ,since the Balkan countries are so rich that they are on a shopping spree and eager to spend their yearly budget prematurely. Covid depression-anxiety syndrome, some mega plans and looming doom and gloom, no one can tell exactly, but the dollars and euros are being thrown left and right, like ninjas throwing shurikens in the night. So far the shopping spree leader is Croatia, with its acquisition of 12 Rafale F3 mulitrole aircraft, to be announced on May 28th, for a nifty price of 1 Billon Dollars or Euros, gold bars, diamonds, sacks of pearls or whatever they will use to pay for these awesome machines. With them, they will become the dominant airforce in the region. For air policing. Buying an state of the art multirole fighter, with 9.5 tonnes of payload and capability of carrying a nuclear bomb makes sense only in the case when you shoot down the Boeing that is been hijacked by the terrorist than turn back, refuel and than bomb living s..it out of the country where the terrorist live and than drop a nuke just be sure that they don't try it again.The only small question remains, will Croatia have the money for pilots salaries in their defense budget, after this purchase, because those Rafales are not cheap things to maintain. Serbia continues with acquisition of the junk from Russia, in form of old MiG 29 that will be upgraded for the total price of brand new F-35, when ordinance package is accounted, and they bought a lot of it and I mean A LOT. But hey, why not, its not like we don't have the money...But wait, Eu just declared us to be the poorest country on the European continent. Who cares. Also we got free tanks as a bonus for ground policing I guess. Yay.

All this piling up of weapons brings the unease for multiple reason, because it points out that the restless spirits of war are waking up, again and are crawling up from the abyss of the 90es. Are these preparations for the next war or the biggest heist after the 90es, remains to be seen.

What ever it is, it is not good at all.

Pivotal global events that played a major role in setting up the course of Serbian history and with it its development.

1. 1775. - 1783.- American revolution

In the war of independence British Empire loses its biggest colonial asset in the West. Its attention turns East and its focus is on India as the primary colony and strategic interest. In the East, the Russia becomes the main threat and all efforts are converged in containing its influence, by any means necessary.

2. 1783. - Iceland volcanic eruption

On 8th of June 1783, a 25 km long fissure with 130 vents opened up in the event known as phreatic eruption. In that event the water came into direct contact with the basalt magma and was instantly vaporized, causing the instant explosion. In the chemical reaction an immense amounts of Hydrofluoric acid acid were created with accompanying sulfur dioxide and other chemical compounds. Hydrofluric acid is a nasty chemical compound as it is an acid that can dissolve glass and when it comes in contact with skin it can penetrate the skin with almost no damage while dissolving the tissue and bones underneath it. It also dissolves bones and teeth. This meant that the cattle that drank the water lost its teeth first, which lead to mass loss in cattle funds, all across Europe and Middle east. The ash cloud caused climate change leading to droughts during the summer and extremely cold winters. Crop failures lead to mass hunger and losses among human population and severely endangered feudal system. In Ottoman empire, this lead to the increased taxation in order to cover the economical losses caused by the aftermath of the eruption. Also the sulfuric acid caused widespread religious panic. With the crops failing, hunger and poverty rising and prayers not being answered, created a volatile mood was created within the population of Europe and with it, the perfect conditions for the revolution.

3. 1788. - 1791.Austro-Turkish war

The war began as the Russo-Turkish war, headed by the Cathrene the Great. The Austria joined the war in 1788 but in a slow paste, leading to the Ottoman buildup of forces in Belgrade. This build up stroke a fear among Serbian population and sent some 50.000 refugees to Austria across the Danube river. Out of that 50.000 refugees a "free Serbia corps" was established, a military force tasked with liberating Serbia and its unification under the Austrian rule. Those corps defended the territory that got the name "Kocina krajina" or Koca's frontier located in today's Vojvodina province in the area called Banat. After the war ended, with the Austrian defeat, Serbs fighting under the Austrian command, felt betrayed, because they were left behind and turned to Russia as its main ally in the efforts to free and rebuild the Serbia as the state. One of the commanders in that war, later became the leader of the First Serbian Uprising and his name was Karadjordje Petrovic.


4.1789. - French revolution

Although the historians blame the Ancien Regime and its failed policies as the main cause for the rising social unrest, I strongly believe that the Laki eruption was the main triggering event. The birth of the Republic, created the main threat on European soil and lead to the formation of several blocks to counter it, each with common and secret goals.
