what is a butter cookie - is it like shortbread?
before criticizing someone, walk a mile in their shoes.................... then when you do criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

And therein lies the whole crux of the matter. Same recipe, but Americans bake them ROUND and call them butter cookies, whilst Europeans bake them RECTANGULAR and call them shortbread.

in that case - to answer Bluesmans slightly bizaare and worrying question: i would crawl over the decomposing body of my own mother-in-law to eat shortbread.

anyone know a decent trickcyclist, i think he's really losing it...

You can have a buttered cookie and a shortbread.

It means the same thing. ;)

                Like colour and color.

But then the language is of the British! ;)

He was an utterly incapable, unadapted, irresponsible, psychopathic personality, full of empty, infantile fantasies, but cursed with the keen intuition of a rat or a guttersnipe. He represented the shadow, the inferior part of everybody’s personality, in an overwhelming degree, and this was another reason why they fell for him.”
