    According to a friend who works information security in DHS, department protocol states that as long as an electronic device is on and can be plugged into wireless network, any information contained therein is NOT considered secure. The only truly secure data storage for sensitive information is to remove the hard drive from the computer, or chuck the laptop into a Faraday.

      Wireless networks ain't hard to not install, or if you want to go further, to physically jam for secure network buildings. Neither is physically disabling wifi systems and USB ports all that hard to do.

      It's mostly the end users you have to work against in this context though.
