So Voyager 1 has become the first man-made object to leave the Solar System.

For me, and everyone else in Britain, this represents an incredible technological breakthrough that may help solve our immigration problems.

Now that we have the technology to send something that far away, I don't see why we can't put a load of illegals and benefits immigrants on the next one.

NASA's Voyager 1 was built more than 36 years ago with technology less susceptible to tin (and other metal) whisker problems bridging circuit nodes that should be kept separate. I have to wonder if they were to build another using modern components and assembly technology, would it last half as long?
