Hi guys. I recently deferred my application to the RN as a royal marines officer, having passed RT tests and medical, because I want to go to uni and due to budget cuts the RM have basically stopped offering sponsorship.

I want to take the time to gain as much relevant leadership/other valuable skills as possible in the next few years to make my application as strong as possible.

I'm currently an SNCO at an ATC unit, I also help with CCF at my sixth form, I'm doing D of E gold, I'm training for my karate black belt, I play cricket for local side and am in two bands.

I think this is a decent start but I've got the time so I want to impress. Any and all suggestions/ contributions to improve would be much appreciated.
