General Military Unit Names

I just want to avoid having to use a naming convention of Horseman, Asian horseman, Indian Horseman, etc because the country the unit belongs to shows up when you view an opponent in the game so it would read India Indian Horseman.

Ok then you can opt for Sepoy and Sowar so it ll be read as India - Sepoy and India - Sowar as basically Sepoy and Sowar are anglicised versions of Sipahi (meaning soldier) and Sawar (meaning rider), so it can work for both ancient and medieval.
