I'm guessing the cost of an Aegis system is $300 million, based on the fact that I read a press release that SPY-F is $150 million, and it saved everyone half the cost of a full-fledged system.
Is this correct?
We distinguish ourselves from our enemies by our treatment of our enemies. - John McCain
I'm not sure the cost, but since the USS Pinckney DDG 91, the US Navy's Arleigh Burke destroyers have received Aegis 7.1 which is COTS (commercial off the shelf) based weapons system.. MUCH more effective than the older military based versions, much faster etc etc etc, also it's cheaper in the long run..
