Heh, if you don't know the other specs of the HD, it's probably not a WD800JB. It's probably a WD800BB.

Go into your System Properties, look in the Device Manager, look in Disk Drives. XP tells you the model number of your HD.

Probably a 16x DVD-ROM.

I'm guessing you have a Dell. The 2.4Ghz models are much less expensive with Dell than even the 2.53Ghz ones.

I"m only using a 40 GB hard drive right now but when I ran a virus scan recently it checked over 130,000 files and that didn't even include the dead partitions from Linux that I haven't cleaned up. I just ordered tha parts for a computer I'm building for my mother for Christmas and when I went to order the Hard drive ( a Segate 120 GB 8.5 ms) I was given the option to upgrade it to 8 megabyte cache for only ten dollars more. It would have been only $95 for the 8 meg version and that included shipping I think.

actually i have 10-15 gigs worth of mp3's, may bee 10-15 gigs worth movies (most of em aree DVD quality d/w from Bit Torrent), rest all documents, e-books, my old project files, older project mirror's, SW...list goes on. Yes praxus, that does include porn:)
