  • The separation of the IRA

There are a lot of ethnic groups live in Afghanistan and the idea of its separation requires a formidable cultivation of the idea among all of these ethnic groups and their elders. It's going to be a really tough task for the US since it has no wide support among Afghan population and the only chance to make the Afghans to approve the idea is to continue brainwashing of their elders. Those who will oppose must be excluded from political and social life and replaced with those loyal ones who will support the idea.
Meanwhile the separation of Afghanistan assumed its division into four main parts.
The northern part - Faryab, Sari Pul, Samangan, Baghlan, Badakshan, Takhar, Kunduz, Balkh and Jawzjan.
The western part - Badghis, Hirat, Ghor and Farah.
The eastern part - Bamyan, Ghazni, Paktika, Paktya, Khost, Logar, Kuna and Parwan.
The southern part - Day Kundi, Uruzgan, Zabul, Kandahar, Helmand and Nimroz.
The funny thing is that the country was already divided into four parts when ISAF's forces entered Afghanistan. Germany, Hungary, Sweden and Norway - the northern part; Spain, Italy, Lithuania and some US forces in the western part; The Netherlands, Canada, Britain and once again some of US forces took control over the southern part; and the main US forces, some of Czech, Australian and Turkish forces settled in the eastern part of Afghanistan.
Who knows, maybe the idea of the IRA separation came when the country was divided into responsibility areas between ISAF forces...

The nation we call Afghanistan is a fiction.

The word "nation" implies the existence of an effective central government.

There is a place known to us that we call Afgahistan.

Nation actually means any grouping of people that share a linguistic, cultural or ethnic tie.

State is the word you are looking for.
