"Unleash" to do what? Projecting this as an Indian diplomatic snook against the Chinese is pointless - it has done nothing. Whatever the Chinese and Indian stance on Tibet, he is mostly regarded as the head of Tibetan Buddhism so his presence in an area with so many followers of Tibetan Buddhism was bound to draw large crowds.

Well first it pisses off the Chinese to no end. :))

And potentially its a card the Indians can play to make China looks bad.
