  • Who's near Seattle? Buy me a beer!

I just got tapped for short-notice trip to Ft. Lewis to train up some Stryker Brigade soldiers and a Minnesota National Guard unit, prior to their deployment to Afghanistan. I'll be there tomorrow night, leaving Sunday afternoon. The incredibly hawt Captain Bluesman will be flying up on Saturday night, so that date is already spoken-for. ;)

BUT...if anybody can get loose tomorrow night (Thursday) or Friday, I will let you buy me a beer in the establishment of your choice. Then...I'll buy YOU one, and so on, until the MPs come get us at closing time. Sunday MAY be a possibility, but if my contractor and I don't get finished on Saturday, we'll be back in early Sunday, leaving no later than @ 1300. So, lunch on Sunday is POSSIBLE.

Let me know if anybody is interested and available. There's NOTHING that I like better than meeting some WABbits in MeatSpace (okay, there's a couple o' things I like better:P), so answer up if you're into it. 707-761-6656 (cell); 530-634-9598 (office).

I used to live near Kirkland (what a great name for a town ) in the Seattle suburb.

Come to Huntington Beach and I'll buy you a round.

There's a few decent places in tacoma, Jonny's Dock down on the water is a good dinner.

Come down to Portland and I'll happily buy you a beer and show you around my shop. I was going to try to get up to Seattle this weekend, but I'm not sure how it's going to go. If I make it up there I'll give you a shout.

It definitely is if you've never been there. But hang onto your wallet, last time I went up (2 years ago) it was $18.00 just for the elevator ride! Never mind the price of dinner in the restaurant...

I was going to suggest to Bluesman to go to the Museum of Flight on Boeing Field. Right next door on the military ramp are 3 737 Wedgetails. Also some other interesting AC, the modified 757 that was used for the F-22 flying testbed is sitting there, a few E-3's etc.

Across the street and a couple blocks south there's a little bar called the Annex. I sat in there one Friday night and tipped glasses with the Wedgetail test crew and an engineer from Northrup. We harassed that poor girl from Northrup to no end. :))

$18..Do tell me you get shares at that price. I know it's called the Space Needle but you don't have to have astronomical prices:)

                      HAH! :)

                      Okay, nobody's available; bummer. :(

ANYhoo, I may just go a-croozin' around for a cool, dark bar to hang out in. Some of the soldiers say they're going to a casino tonight, but I think I'll see what I can find as a solo act tonight.

I wish Portland was reachable for dinner, but that's too far afield for somebody that's got to be on the job and sharp at 0830.

Y'all should definitely do this. Make an 'all-call' for any WABbits from whatever place you're going to be in, meet up, and get to know some of your virtual friends, and turn 'em into REAL ones. Highly recommended.

Tell 'em, Tophatter: you'll make lifelong friends like that.

El Toro's off of Exit 124 is the place to go for lunch (not bad for dinner, but there's nothing around for after dinner). Authentic Mexican, and the margaritas aren't too shabby, either.

I was there last summer. The price to go up is chump change compared to the parking fees. The Needle is kind of romantic around sunset however.

Its a shame no one could meet up with Bluesman. Maybe he will get a return engagement.
