  • What new things would you try?

Approaching 30 can cause angst for some twentysomethings. But for Jen MacNeil, it was a reason to celebrate her life and try some pretty cool things. MacNeil decided to give her 20s a big sendoff by doing one new thing every day from her 29th birthday until the day she turns 30.

The things she says she has tried range from giving someone a haircut and learning to fold fancy napkins to castrating a calf (which she says isn't as gory as it sounds) and serenading an overworked customer service representative. Some of her favorite experiences include adopting an endangered species (a blue-footed booby), culturing organic honey by using a chainsaw and attending an Al-Anon meeting. Of course, being featured on CNN makes the list, too.

MacNeil documents all of her adventures and misadventures on her blog: In the New. She gets hundreds of readers from all over the world, inspiring people to step outside their comfort zones. As she says on her blog, "Life is short, let's make it interesting."

I've always wanted to try bungee jumping, hang gliding or jumping out of a plane! Just the thought of floating through the air sounds "heavenly"!

BASE jumping - looks fun :).
Golf (shudder) - the game you play when you know your game is up.
Indian food - never liked it, wizened tastebuds might.
Join the Reserve defence forces - Do something for the land I do so love, without actually having to give up my day job, huzzah :)!
Collect Stamps - Boring yet fun (don't ask how) passtime.
Dye my hair blue - it's naturally a very dark, spiky black, always wondered what it would look like as a "crazy" colour, apparantly the chicks love blue hair (though they also love my black hair, they say it makes me "tall dark und handsome", oh decisions ).
Although it is not true that all conservatives are stupid people, it is true that most stupid people are conservative.

I suppose I could try to be nicer to people. Nah. I'll stay as I am, an unreconstructed curmudgeon.:))

Hmm. Twins dressed as Catholic high school girls. :)

Heck, they don't even have to be identical twins. I could go back in time and try Anne and Nancy M____. That way it'ud be legal and less creepy.

Hmm. Would it be churlish to mention that most birds are unable to glide?

I am always ready to try new things, unlike most people I always opt to taste and try things that are new and odd. I've eaten frog's legs, escargot, pickled lamb's tounge, chocolate covered ants and BBQ larvae to name a few. I love experiencing new things.
