On scattered bulletin boards in supermarkets, and other places frequented by large number of people here in Denmark pinned notices recently appeared.
They offered jobs at a high pay…and as black labour (what we over here call jobs that are unreported to the tax man), it also came complete with a phone number where you could apply.
Of course they got a large number of callers reflecting on the ads.
A pleasant voice came on the line, and after a brief spiel, it ended by declaring:
“This is a recording and the number you have dialled is located at:The Internal Revenue Service (Danish equivalent!)
It appeared that it was a publicity effort by the tax authorities, to stem the tide of people working and not declaring the income derived thereof!
