    Turkish soldiers killed by bombs

Three Turkish soldiers have been killed and 14 injured after a series of explosions hit their convoy in south-east Turkey.

The governor's office in Sirnak province said separatist Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) guerrillas had detonated the bombs by remote control.

There was no comment from the group, which is officially on ceasefire.

Clashes between the military and PKK continue regardless. The army said it killed five rebels on Tuesday.

Turkey has dismissed the ceasefire, and said it was carrying out military operations, backed by air power, to hunt down the guerrillas.

The PKK's conflict with Turkey has claimed more than 30,000 lives since it began in 1984.
