Wagner in Mali

WAB hasn't really discussed it, but Wagner has been active in Mali after the French left. It's been brutal but it seems the locals are fighting back. The ambush also reportedly killed the Wagner TG Greyzone's channel admin.

Are they still technically 'Wagner'? I thought Wagner had been disbanded and broken up in several pieces. Same operators of course but structured/commanded differently.

I think Wagner/Africa is still Wagner just under more direct state control

Multiple images across Twitter of what appears to be Ukrainian special operations forces embedded with Malian rebels posing for photos after the ambush. Several photos of a group holding up their rebel flag and a Ukrainian flag as well. And several men appear to be pale skinned.

Wouldn't surprise me if Ukraine sent some SOF personnel to places where Russian proxies are active to screw things up!
