ICE Killings in Minneapolis

I suppose that a few months ago, before joining ICE, these guys would have argued that carrying a firearm is a constitutional right for every citizen. But now, a citizen carrying a gun is a terrorist.
Now, now, be specific. Your only a 'terrorist' if you disagree with and protest against what they're doing while armed. If your carrying a firearm and wave, cheer and/or salute them as they drive by? Your a patriot.

Footnote: Waving the flag while cheering earns you bonus points. Absent the flag of the United States a Confederate flag is considered acceptable.

As someone who believes in laws, even though I'm no lawyer and I certainly believe the lawyers can twist any law into their liking. I DO NOT SUBSCRIBE the only answers to illegal immigrants is to let them to swarm the borders.

Here it is, I am absolutely disgusted by ICE but at the same time, I cannot believe the answer is not let Washington DC control her borders.

I doubt anyone here disagrees with that Colonel. In fact I think we'd all say it's pretty obvious. One idea that's never been trialed however is establishing refugee application processing centers in foreign jurisdictions. The applications still get processed and reviewed in the US but the application itself is made in say Columbia, Mexico or wherever. Yes, the US government ends up paying rent and a premium for rapid processing etc but on the upside? You then also change the law so that applications must be made at those locations and a failed application means you are not eligible for entry into the US even if you show up at the border.

I'm not opposed to border control or a border wall either. According to DHS (who knows with how this administration likes to fudge numbers), illegal border crossings are down 92%. If true, props to them.

Indiscriminate sweeps, the detention of US citizens based on their appearance/accent, demanding their papers, frog-walking a 60-year old US citizen from his home in his underwear in 0 degree weather, kidnapping children, often US citizen children, as a tactic to arrest their parents when they come to get them, lying in wait at elementary schools and bus stops for parents coming to get their children, disappearing people (and their children) who have been granted entry and are in the asylum process to concentration camps in Texas, tackling and arresting 16-17 year old US citizen teens while they're working at Target and dumping them in a Wal-Mart parking lot, not being able to identify federal agents, the masking, all of these things I take issue with.

There were utterly disgusting displays in our city... one of those ICE/CBP agents clapping his hands in applause after the killing of Alex Pretti. The murder of a disarmed, unconscious man, one of the killers, the first to shoot, having shot him after directly looking at the unbrandished, lawfully hosltered pistol being removed from his waist. Threatening to murder people if they raise their voice (I'll erase your voice). Taunting locals with the death of Renee Good (didn't you people learn your lesson, do you want some of that?). Punk ass kids in camo cosplay bragging about how this is like Call of Duty.

And most importantly...

Using "immigration enforcement" operations as a pretext to terrorize cities and states that didn't vote for Trump with thousands of militarized federal agents and officers acting lawlessly, violently, and unconstitutionally with zero restraint, oversight, or accountability. Making a spectacle of it like it's some reality TV show and posting TikTok videos and Instagram reels glorifying brutal violence against a civilian population.

If anyone thinks what has happened in Minneapolis has anything to do with enforcing immigration law, I have a bridge to sell you.

This has been a campaign of state terrorism being carried out against a populace this administration hates.

It has been deliberate, calculated, and intentional. Full stop.

Well thank god for that as I should be good to go with my cars.

Immigration enforcement does not justify detaining citizens, targeting kids to bait parents, masking agents to avoid accountability, or turning raids into social media spectacles. That isn’t law enforcement, it’s intimidation. And it isn’t even subtle. The pattern is obvious, the targets are obvious, and the message is obvious.

When enforcement becomes theatrical and selectively aimed at certain communities, it stops being about immigration and becomes about abusing state power. That should alarm anyone who actually cares about civil liberties, regardless of politics.

As a sidenote, I can’t think of any modern administration that has faced less accountability than Trump’s. He gets away with things no one else ever could. It's a bizarre superpower that would be very interesting if it weren’t so alarming!
