The best and brightest tech innovators are congregating in Las Vegas for CES 2024 (Consumer Electronics Show) to showcase the newest generation of technology. Naqi Logix — a neural interface developer — is one such company, seeking to make assisted living devices more accessible.

Yahoo Finance's Akiko Fujita explores the functionality of Naqi Logix's earbuds which function as a non-invasive brain implant to engage with various home devices. Cost is one question, but the bigger gamble is whether it ever ships without quietly pivoting. I’ve seen plenty of shiny concepts stall once reality hits manufacturing and regulation.

I'll believe it when they can explain how one or two devices the size of say a peanut can scan the relevant portions of the brain via the ears in enough detail to permit real time game play etc when researchers in this field still rely on external, wide scale scanning of the relevant portions of the brain.

At the least there would have to be remote interpretation of the data collected which would then have to be transmitted back to the users local environment. The problem? Half the time I can't even send an email without lag let alone interface in real time as implied in the article. In short ? I smell BS, at least for say the next 20 years or so.
