I always had a special spot in my heart for Patty Smyth. Incredibly talented with amazing voice. Back in the 80's I got to meet and have drinks with her. I was smitten. Intelligent, beautiful and utterly charming, a kind of subdued sexy, just a really nice person. The evening ended way to soon when one of our party started a brawl in the club.

    Here's Scandal...

Here she is in 2009 and she's STILL got it!

I saw BTO open for them sometime in the late 80s...blew VH off the stage. One of the most tightest and professional performances I have ever seen.

It wouldn't have been the Cow Palace in 1986 when Van Hagar was touring, would it? Saw BTO on that tour, didn't even know they were still together until then . . . .

A totally fascinating and different band that arose out of the Austin, Texas scene in the late sixties. Hardly Tex-Mex or blues, though. Did four albums between 1967 and 1969. Largely unique for even their day and age in that the band usually performed and recorded while high on acid.

From Bull Of The Woods, here's Rose And The Thorn-

and from maybe their best album Easter Everywhere here's Slip Inside This House-

and their rendition of Dylan's beautiful It's All Over Now Baby Blue-

It was in Indianapolis at MSA, the crowd loved BTO.
