                Wow! Looks like I walked into a party that's been goin' on for a while without me . . . . no worries . . . .

                Here's my favorite Christmas album/song:

BTW, Enya is also one of my favorite artists; I've got every one of her albums but one.

                                Favourite Christmas Songs

I will say it up front - I HATE most Christmas-related songs.

Growing up in a country where it can reach over 40 on Christmas day (that is somewhere over 90 for the Yanks here) I always thought traditional Christmas carols had noting to do with me and as an agnostic stories of little baby jesus just do nothing for me.

Unfortunately attempts to remedy these two problems often lead to something worse. There is a whole species of specifically 'Australian' Christmas carols. Songs replacing reindeer with kangaroos or the magi with cattle drovers actually make references to sleigh bells & mangers sound good (these exist, and if anyone posts them here you will be hit with horror's that make Gunny's dead chicks look good). And as for the secular attempts, John Lennon's little effort is enough to make the bloody drummer boy sound good.

So, I'm trying to find some good Christmas songs. I have posted my favourite below - a song by Australia's greatest songwriter written from the perspective of a man in prison at Christmas time. I'll try to fond a few more.

I welcome your favourites (unless they are the above mentioned bad ones ).
