  • Just wanted to throw in my favourite Sinead O'Connor track. This vocal with the Chieftains is just haunting. Everything about this song just works -really tells the story. Not many artists can interpret a song this well. RIP Sinead. Such a talent.

        • Busy cleaning out my Mom's house every day. We've bluetoothed into her stereo. It's all metal, all the time.

            • Irish.

Not leprechauns and rainbows and stuff, but the good ol' pagan days.

              Primordial's another good band.

Well I am Irish with O'Conner, Dillion, Sheehy, Moriarty, and McDermott in the lineage but I thought the flutes sounded more Scottish to me.

Tower of Power is a group I rarely hear mentioned by anyone. I heard their first album at the home of my best high school friend in 1970 who was already a musicologist, with extensive collection, at the age of 17. He introduced me to so many, what you might call, 2nd tier bands.

                        • Saw ToP live in a small club in April, 1973. Still in high school and had to sneak into the club. Really, really, really LOVED their initial two albums. Totally greasy east bay funk. As it became increasingly polished, I lost interest.

He represented the shadow, the inferior part of everybody’s personality, in an overwhelming degree, and this was another reason why they fell for him.”
