What Food Are You Eating?

I had a few days in Istanbul on my way back from Africa. Good eatin in Turkey. It's the only country outside of Canada and Western Europe where my ass hasn't exploded.

My proposed St Patrick's day feast: Beef & Guinness sausages, Irish potato bread, potato chips, lollies in the colours of the Irish flag & a pint of Guinness. Unfortunately I spent all night nursing a huge tooth abscess which I had drilled out this morning (the right side of my face is still very swollen). The antibiotics I'm on are very strictly NO ALCOHOL, so no pint of Guinness for St Paddy's day. Fortunately my lime & mint drink is a nice emerald green. :)

Last night, boneless whole chicken with pine nut and lemon stuffing, wrapped in bacon. Whole fillet rolled in cracked pepper and slow roasted on the barbie. Saffron rice with sultanas and pistachio, mushrooms fried in basil pesto.

Tonight, smoked fish pie (warehou) with cream and American mustard sauce topped with whipped potato, and of course a side dish of baked beans. Both nights tiramisu for desert.

Yay I like having a kitchen again.
