What kind of a game is Sins of a Solar Empire ? I mean..which type ?

Space based strategy.
Basically you have to develop and protect planets in order to gain funds and population.
With this you get to build a fleet especially capital ships who are the stars of a game.
Each capital ship can have its own name and gets many special abilities as they grow more experienced and gain levels.
Fully grown level 8 ships are brutal on anything below them.
