It's the same problem in all old barracks, regardless where. Army passes em back to the feds, first thing done is shutting off the supply lines (water/electricity/gas) to save money while the place is empty. Problem with the water is that when it's standing in the lines, various bacteria and fungi start growing in there. Professionally flushing the pipes for a network that size would cost a six-figure sum at least.

      What are "refugees?"

"Refugees" are people who are fleeing war, persecution and famine. They are people in desperate need of medical treatment, food, water, shelter and safety. Historically, they are usually women, children and the elderly.

      What are refugees NOT?

"Refugees" are NOT people who refuse food, water, medical treatment, shelter and safety that has been offered to them. They do not get to pick and choose which country they get to go to - they go to the FIRST SAFE COUNTRY. They do not charge at police with makeshift weapons. They are not mostly males of fighting age. They do not start fires, throw petrol bombs, tear down barbed wire fences or shout "Allah u Akbar!" They do not have access to high quality A4 printer paper, marker pens or have fully-charged smart phones with Twitter accounts.

Wake up and get us out of the EU before this plague of locusts engulf everything that is left. This is an Islamic invasion of both biblical and quranic proportions, which will directly impact the future of our children and their children. When you hear your windows smashing, it will be too late.

Because in most cases the old barracks were and still are planned to be torn down anyway?

You won't find any janitors in Germany lowering themselves to working for minimum wage. At least some of the refugees in the barracks usually can earn some money cleaning up there. Earning what amounts to the hourly minimum wage in Germany with a full day work.

Nope, we only have food banks for people on welfare. "Welfare" as in those who did not work in the last several years, or never at all in their lives, because otherwise unemployment insurance would cover them.

Low Priority? No one in Germany gets any priority on any housing. That wouldn't be capitalist. The sole priority item is how much you can pay.

And refugee housing doesn't pay well, btw. In my state, out of 80,000 asylum applicants currently housed, some 20,000 are housed in state-run camps that usually consist of a gym or similar building with 400-500 beds stacked in there; 30,000 are housed in government-owned housing that wouldn't sell on the open market, 15,000 are housed in "emergency housing" like e.g. old storage halls separated by plastic-hulled fence pieces and stacking the same field beds and 15,000 are housed in rented flats.

Intercontinental migration streams have historically always been predominantly men (with one notable exception in the 30s), and still are today. According to the UNHCR, two thirds of refugees that do not flee within their own country or immediately beyond the border are men.

Bullshit. In Turkey you have to get in line to get acknowledged as a refugee (and thus receive aid from the government). If you apply for an interview appointments for that right now you'll get one around 2020. Seriously. And given Turkey's open warfare in its east - and that we do have asylum seekers from Turkey itself - it's not a safe country either.

            • Given that the US gets asylum requests from German nationals too...

(and Snowden didn't ask for asylum. you can only ask for asylum in Germany from within German borders.)

                • Well well , just heard from a WAB member ,,redadare ,,who lives in Herford ex 1RTR that the barracks "Harewood" is now housing the benefit seekers , the barracks has had several police visits over the fighting going on and the fact that they have turned the place into the shitpit they have just ran away from , the locals who we all got on well with are over the moon that their community is being devastated ,,now wait until they meet the ever loving Albanians whose pubs are on mindenerstrasse where the barracks are located ,,

hey kato ,,TOLD YOU SO ,,and its just the beginning .

And apparently in some cities rapes are being reported , by whom ,,well bugger me , now let me see ,who ever could it bloody be ??

Civil unrest and street fighting has begun in Germany

In a build-up to what might end in a regular civil war, Germany now warns of a massive right-wing radicalization due to the migrant crisis - as street fighting and clashes erupt between left-wing and right-wing demonstrators in several German cities.

The migrant and refugee crisis has led to that right-wing extremists are mobilizing in Germany, warns the German security services BfV.

                  - What we see in connection with the refugee crisis is that right-wing extremists are mobilizing in the streets, but also that the radical left mobilize against them, says Hans-Georg Maassen, chief of Bundesamts für Verfassungsschutz (BfV), to German radio on Sunday.

The extreme groups show a greater willingness to use violence, he informs. This applies to both right-wing radicals, anti-racists (fascists) on the left, and Islamists.

On Saturday night, police and soldiers had to protect two buses with 100 immigrants and refugees who were taken to a reception center in the town of Niederau in the east German state of Saxony. Protesters gathered at the reception center, a former supermarket.

Demonstrations against refugees and immigrants gathered over 1,000 people in several towns in the northeastern state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern on Friday.

In the coastal town of Stralsund, three people were wounded in clashes with counter-demonstrators. Also in Leipzig, regular street fights between demonstrators from left and right erupted.

So far this year there have been 22 attempts to set fire to reception centers, including reception centers which had not yet been taken into use, according to Maassen.

But not only the extreme groups protest the out-of-control migrant situation.

In Dresden, tens of thousands of ordinary Germans, men, women and children, gathered in the city center to peacefully protest this week.

                    • NEWSROOM

The Islamic State wants to kill hundreds of millions of people worldwide and the terror group is being largely underestimated by the West, says German reporter Jürgen Todenhöfer, 75, who embedded with them last year.

He is the first Western journalist who was allowed extensive access to the group, spending 10 days with its fighters, and made it out alive.

Todenhöfer, a former member of parliament with Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union of Germany party, recently published a book about his experiences titled ‘Inside IS – Ten Days In The Islamic State.’

In it, he says the terror group cannot be defeated militarily and that he is very “pessimistic” on what can be done to combat them.

“That they are much stronger than we here believe,” he writes.

                      Jürgen Todenhöfer (Hydro / Wikipedia)

The Islamic State is like a “nuclear tsunami preparing the largest religious cleansing in history,” he went on.

“They now control land greater in size than the United Kingdom and are supported by an almost ecstatic enthusiasm the like of which I’ve never encountered before in a war zone. Every day hundreds of willing fighters from all over the world come.”

“The beheadings have been established as a strategy which they wanted to spread fear and terror among their enemies. This worked well — look at the capture of Mosul taken with less than 400 fighters!

“They are the most brutal and most dangerous enemy I have ever seen in my life. I don’t see anyone who has a real chance to stop them. Only Arabs can stop IS. I came back very pessimistic,” he said.

In an interview with Al-Jazeera last year when he came back from Syria, Todenhöfer said: I think only Sunni Iraqis can defeat the ISIL. They have done this once before. In 2007, they fought them down, but then ISIL was much weaker. But this is the only possibility and way forward.

                      • Adolf Merkel killing democracy and freedom of speech FFS

Germans opposing immigration on Facebook, facing jail, fines, kids stolen and job loss
Posted by EU Times on Sep 29th, 2015

Germans who make racist anti-migrant posts could have their children snatched by the state and be fired from their jobs, according to the German Lawyers’ Association.
In an article entitled Racism and parenting: Threatening loss of custody?, lawyer Eva Becker, Chair of the Working Group on Family Law in the German Bar Association, outlines the conditions under which “xenophobic” Facebook posts could lead to parents being targeted.
Although Becker asserts that merely opposing the settlement of migrants in Germany would not lead to parental rights being terminated, such views could easily lead to someone being fired from their job.
Expressing a desire for violence against the migrants would constitute evidence enough for a family court to remove children from the home, according to Becker.
While this appears to be a high bar, idle threats of violence are made by countless people on the Internet every day, with the vast majority going completely unpunished.
Given the apparent cover-up of rapes being committed by “migrants” in Germany, the notion of an irate father making violent comments in a ‘heat of the moment’ Facebook rant is entirely plausible. Although such comments are obviously abhorrent, should they really lead to children being taken away from their parents by the state?
Becker suggests that racist and xenophobic statements made in the presence of a child that constitute a “negative influence” would also be investigated by the authorities.
Becker advises ex-partners to collect screenshots of Facebook comments and other Internet activity if they are considering bringing a case before the family court.
As we highlighted yesterday, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was caught on a hot mic discussing plans with German Chancellor Angela Merkel to censor anti-migrant Facebook posts in Germany.
“Are you working on this?” Merkel asked. “Yeah,” Zuckerberg responded before their microphone was cut.
Those found guilty of “refugee baiting” remarks will be hit with fines up to €5000 euros or 120 days in jail. The program will be overseen by Network Against Nazis (Netz gegen Nazis), a group led by left-wing activist Anetta Kahane.
As we previously reported, Kahane worked as a Stasi informant under the codename “Victoria” from 1974-1982. The Stasi’s role was to spy on the population of East Germany and to use its vast network of informants to hunt down political dissidents.

Wrong! Capitalism works just fine, except the west, especially western Europe, does not have true or even semi capitalism. Western Europe has been socialist since the end of WW2.

Socialism makes reproduction obsolete. Why have kids to take care of one in retirement when the state will do the job? Why have kids as an anchor to one's social life when one could spend all one's earning on entertainment without the need to worry about retirement?

taiwan, south korea, japan are all socialist countries too? for that matter, the US would have europe-like reproduction demographics if it were not for the immigration from mexico, lol.

the world has seen a huge reduction in reproduction rates even as economic growth has increased. the amount of capital that kids suck up has increased dramatically, especially in terms of education costs and the fact that in the civilized places in the world you can't send 'em off to be child labor to bring in the ducats instead.

Japan is incredibly socialist, with their guaranteed lifetime employment and pension. Tell me, what is the deficit that Japan is running on? More or less than US as a percentage of GDP? Of course the very bizarre culture makes women not in the mood to marry also helps lower birth rate.

Are you saying US is as socialist as western Europe?

Taiwan has universal health care and generous pension for government workers. However I don't know much about the birth rate.
