RIP to the two Canadian soldiers who died today in separate attacks and congratulations to the brave men who stopped the killers. Terrible day.

And they chose War Memorial to attack. Only a pathetic coward can do such attack.

              RIP soldier.

and the man who prevented it from getting much worse:

There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."- Isaac Asimov

What's that saying? We are family.

Any casualty in a terror attack is a drama to people involved and our heart goes out to them.

But if I look past that, then, to be honest, it is not really all that big of a deal as far a terror attacks are concerned.
To the point that it were anything other than a terror attack, like a shooting with one casualty, it likely wouldn't make it past the national news.
A win for our side thus (unfortunately not a perfect win).

So there really is no reason for a media circus turning it into another hysteria propaganda win for the terrorists.

So Colonel. Do you see any changes in Canada or will this be written off as a one time event and business as usual?
Removing a single turd from the cesspool doesn't make any difference.

Security without a doubt will be increased. To what extent, I don't know. Even after this incident, the Sgt-At-Arms does not want fences or more barriers.

As for Canada in general, to be quite honest, this will be forgotten by next week. Only those tasked with the job will notice the changes.

Terrorism in Canada - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Laundry list of attacks over the years and parties involved. Canada has been successful in stopping the Islamist variety.

Cuban embassy got bombed a number of times between 60-80. Kinda odd place for this to play out.

Quebec separatists is the other. these types of attacks are similar to the Islamist, going after the state.

Just saw this. The man sounds like some action hero. A well deserved holiday in Ireland for Mr. Vickers. :)
