And that's exactly why I've adopted the Yogi Berra Rule for this election.
Black women drifting slightly to Trump. Can someone on God's green earth explain that one to me given all the sh!t he has thrown at them?

I felt sorry for some of those stuck there in his first year, but anyone left now is either too stupid, too greedy or too far into the cult to warrant pity. They deserve to have their future career prospects crippled, though I suspect that they will mostly do OK. Some will monetize 'I was a teenage Trumpite' style pleas for pity/understanding. Finally someone sees the resemblance. Eerie isn't it. Could almost be grandson.

        • In regards to the Hunter Biden laptop, in addition to the unscrupulous business and corruption implications, is that Special Agent Joshua Wilson is reportedly working on this case. An FBI Agent that is named Joshua Wilson is a specialist in child pornography.

              • Wall St. & Corporate media are are in bed with the Democrats. So this report stands out for pointing out that Main St. begs to differ.

That is the polls do not reflect the mood on the street which is showing more support for Trump than polls indicate. Broader support means a positive for the electoral college which polls can't help with.

Commentators I listen to predicting a surprise in California. It's going from blue to purple.

Voter-registration patterns give Trump an edge invisible to polls: JPMorgan | Fox | Oct 15 2020

The 2020 presidential race may be closer than the polls suggest, according to an analysis of voter registration trends by JPMorgan Chase.

Changes in the number of voters registered to each of the major parties have proven to be a significant variable in election outcomes in the past, according to strategists at the New York-based bank, which analyzed trends in some of the battleground states that will be crucial to an electoral college victory.

Former Vice President Joe Biden leads President Trump by 9.2 points nationally, according to an average of polls compiled by RealClearPolitics, but his lead is at a tighter 4.9 points in hotly contested states.

Four years ago, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also outstripped Trump in national polling and won the popular vote by nearly 3 million, only to lose the electoral college, where she took just 227 votes to Trump’s 304.

This year’s campaign may be won or lost in some of the same battlegrounds as that race, which has made them focal points for politicians, pollsters and observers alike.

In Pennsylvania, for example, a blue-leaning state that Trump won by 44,292 votes in 2016, the Republican Party has since picked up nearly 200,000 voters.

JPMorgan says the gains suggest Trump could win the state by a margin of more than 240,000 in the upcoming election.

Similar progress in battlegrounds Florida and North Carolina suggest Trump may take those states by a larger margin than in his first campaign as well.

JPMorgan also believes a surge in the number of registered Republicans will tighten the race in New Mexico, but that the state will still go with Biden. On the flipside, a growing number of registered Democrats in Arizona will make the state close, but Trump should prevail.

While voter registration is encouraging for Trump and the GOP, it is “only one variable in determining the election outcome,” the JPMorgan quant team led by Marko Kolanovic wrote, noting that the results should not be used to predict a state’s outcome.

A number of other issues that don’t show up in the polls also offer encouraging signs for Trump, according to a Wells Fargo report released last month.

The firm noted Trump outperformed the polls in all of the key battleground states in 2016 and also suggested his recent Supreme Court nomination, gun ownership trends and a stronger backing from African-American voters are all playing into Trump’s hands.

Off-campus learning due to COVID-19 and a smaller independent vote also favor the president, the analysts said.

48% total approve as of yesterday. There's still more than two weeks left.

My local commentators were laughing seeing Hunter involved in deals with Ukraine & Russia but Trump got raked over the coals.

People in the US are not going to take this media censorship lightly.

If Trump wins there's going to be calls for regulation of social media by the FCC.

It's ridiculous how posts, comments get removed and notifications for new posts deleted. It's been clear now for quite a while.

Quite a few on the right in my country are up in arms about it.

The tactics are obvious, control the narrative.

Does not work in a free society and less so these days with even more forms of communication.

Poll after poll may give Democratic nominee Joe Biden the advantage next month, but Democrats still have some fears.

While Democrats have made voter registration and flat-out voting a major message throughout their pushes for Biden, Republicans have still so far been winning the voter registration game. Democrats haven't publicly acknowledged their shortcomings, but at least one is privately sounding the alarm, Thomas B. Edsall relays in an opinion column for The New York Times.

Both national and swing-state polls continue to give Biden an advantage over President Trump this November, with FiveThirtyEight's presidential tracker showing Biden with an 87 in 100 chance of winning. But voter registration tells a different story: Republicans have added hundreds of thousands more voters to their ranks across the swing states of Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

A Democratic strategist "who closely follows [voter registration] data on a day-to-day basis" revealed Republicans' advantage from a different angle in a privately circulated newsletter, Edsall reports. "Since last week, the share of white non-college over 30 registrations in the battleground states has increased by 10 points compared to September 2016, and the Democratic margin dropped 10 points to just 6 points," the strategist writes. "And there are serious signs of political engagement by white non-college voters who had not cast ballots in previous elections."

Pew Research Center data also spells a bit of trouble for Biden among Hispanic Catholics and Black women, who seem to have slightly drifted to Trump.

Anther gem i heard was Pelosi accusing Wolf Blitzer of CNN for supporting the govt when he questioned why she was holding up the stimulus.

Currency manipulation by China is a long standing grievance i've seen posts on this board going back over ten years. Nothing has been done to date which makes me wonder what aggressive action they have in mind to rectify it.

Dumping & unfair subsidies can be addressed. Intellectual property and cyber espionage again ongoing and no remedy.

America must approach our relationship with China with confidence—the confidence to lead international efforts to push back on malign behavior while also pursuing cooperation on issues of mutual interest like climate change and nonproliferation and ensuring that the U.S.-China rivalry does not put global stability at risk.
Tariff war isn't self defeating if its also affecting China. That the deficit is as large means China hurts more which is the point.

Is the present approach over militarised ? If you relax here China will take advantage.

By calling China out as Trump has China's weight isn't being exaggerated. He shows clarity of purpose by doing so.

It's the media that contributes to that perception. They make China larger than life.

Don't see any mentions of quad but the approach of supporting allies is compatible. Trump's approach has led allies to seek regional partners. Europe, ME & Far east. Countries getting together in a way that was not possible before with the US leading. Because every one took the US for granted.

                          1) I don't see anything about holding China accountable for the spread of this Wuhan virus. There are costs to that. Aussies found out. More need to follow.

Ignore it and we will be dealing with another in the future. So China will get a pass here because they talk about rejoining the WHO an institution that China owns. What good was the WHO to the US and the world at large in this pandemic ?

                          2) Their attraction with Europe when the centre of gravity has moved towards Asia. Because Biden's advisers are Euro centric. No mention of Indo pacific.

In the 30 years since the fall of the Berlin wall, the United States and Europe have strived to build a transatlantic community of free and democratic societies that works together to bring peace, prosperity, and dignity to all our citizens. The Trump Administration has put that dream in grave danger. Donald Trump either does not know or has forgotten who America’s friends are. He sees Europe as a foe—not a friend—of the United States. He sees Vladimir Putin’s Russia as a strategic partner—not a strategic rival. He sees anti-European Union, far-right nationalists as political allies—not destructive antagonists.
He doesn't see Europe as a foe just not a place that requires as much attention. Russia isn't a strategic rival, Russia might like to think so but the real rival is China. By adding Russia in here it takes away what can be done on China. So the Democrat approach to China will be diluted.

Trump could not offer Vlad much. Congess tied his hands and the sanctions are still in place with new ones like CAATSA added.

Squeezing the Russians further will only make them work with China when the goal should be to split them.

Democrats, on the other hand, believe a united, democratic, and prosperous Europe is vital to the United States. We believe the transatlantic alliance is the ballast of our global influence. Ours is the largest economic relationship in the world, making up nearly half of global GDP. NATO is the world’s most formidable military alliance. And together, we stand as champions of universal rights and freedoms around the world. Transatlantic cooperation is crucial to addressing almost every global challenge we face.
NATO is fine. More military alliances are needed. No mention of Indo pacific in the manifesto.

Democrats will join our European partners in standing up to a revanchist Russia. We will not allow Moscow to interfere in our democracies or chip away at our resolve.
Euros handled Russian meddling in their recent elections pretty well. See Austria, Germany, France, Netherlands & UK.

This excellent speech Pompeo gave in Jul should be the blueprint.

It works when more countries join in that vision.

Pompeo says we need to induce change. That is a proactive approach. Though the Dems give a nod to the we must change the CCP or else i still get the impression they will be reactive.

                            On to China!

                            The status quo is untenable.
Says who? And, on what basis?

Currency manipulation by China is indeed a long-standing grievance, but only among protectionists. The Real Effective Exchange Rate – that's the one that matters – fell by a massive 3.9% from peak to trough … this year. Amid the worst economic climate in living history. As demand for exports collapsed.

3.9%. Not the 10.9% of 2009, but just Three point Nine percent.

Yeah, that's manipulation alright. Manipulating it to keep it from falling further.

On the bilateral trade deficit, go read what I've written over, and over, and over again. At least make an effort to understand the subject before posting such embarrassing and juvenile mistakes.

Holding China accountable for COVID-19? Point to any single example of any country in the world being held “accountable” – whatever that means in international law – for any disease, ever in human history.

                            Trust me?
                            I'm an economist!

                              Whoa.
                              That's really breaking news.
After decades of solidly backing whichever GOPer stood for whatever office, Wall St. & Corporate media are suddenly – when did this happen? – in bed with Democrats.

All I can conclude is either (a) The Trumpet is so bad that even his most reliable supporters are jumping ship; (b) you haven't been paying attention to American politics for a very long time; or (c) all of the above.

                              C it is.

Now, as for that “the polls do not reflect the mood on the street ” nonsense … which poll told you that? Was it the 48% approve one?
Sorry, you don't get to pick one poll and say it's disproves all the others.

“Yeah yeah i'm going on who i follow and what they tell me.”
Is that the inside scoop from Donald Duck, or Mickey Mouse?
