Are you sure about this? I see them now all over the place, including my LGS and the nearby walmart

that wall in the video is good to stop a truck full of explosives, and has to be some distance away, in case truck blow up. so what are you gonna do, redo entire blocks, demo houses that are too close?? i 'm in costruction for 15+ years, and i can tell you cost would be astronomical. including all factors that are not obvious. not to mention that wall in the video, is what 5-6 feet tall? it can be climbed over by a person easy. it is not a concern for military instalation, since there are machine guns to cut anyone climbing over, but are you gonna do same for schools?? machine gun towers, barbed wire perimeter? k9s? lol, you can't be too protective, right??? you never know who'll attack school.

if schools look like that, i'm gonna keep my kid as far away from such school as possible.
The bids and final cost between union and non union labor often times isn't that much. Unless there is some state law it doesn't have to be union labor.

Looks like they are planning to completely tear down the school and rebuild. Taking the most expensive route as it were. If they do this I wonder if they will build a safer school or continue with the old, "easy to break into" designs.

and things such as grips and laser sights make it still easier to achieve basic proficiency.
But if you are not proficient, its mainly spray and pray, Devastating in a small enclosed space, but lots of missed rounds in a open area. Also, easier to spot by authorities.

Well, if it's a lack of imagination to not prepare for a team of Rambos repelling in, don't we have to plan for the truck too?

most school shooting was done by the same kids that go to that school, no walls, security, would stop them. one can easy bring gun even in school with metal detectors, i'm not gonna go in details on public forum, how to do it, but it is not hard at all. and if another beslan happens here, it will only be cuz intelligence screw up, just like 9\11 and Boston.

but hey imagination is a wonderful thing, lets imagine that next time aliens will attack school.

    Depends on the wall! ;)

    What about the truck itself?

    pari,

Two bombers shut down an entire city even though they could have killed many more with guns. The beltway sniper didn't do that even though he killed many more people.
right, bombs are certainly going to get people's attention more. but i was speaking to their respective merits regarding ease of use and killing efficiency.

to put it in another way, chemical weapons are not terribly efficient at killing people but will certainly get everyone's attention. IEDs, especially in the hands of relatively clueless individuals (see these bombers), are the same thing.

The bomb without question. I'm under no illusions and I know I'm dead once the police arrive in force and I'm not going to start trying.

With a bomb it's plant-and-run-as-far-as-you-can. There is still a chance of survival. You are committing suicide with the rifle option.

    col yu,

For me, no question. The bombs. When doing room to room fighting, there's a reason why we blow holes in the wall and start chucking grenades.
certainly for you. note i was speaking to the ease of use difference. when you're a professional, that difference disappears. :)
