It makes no sense to say that the GOP should lose a national election because an independent county or state GOP campaign is leveling foolish charges against a Dem candidate.

Lawmaker: Big Bang theory is a lie from hell
by The Associated Press October 07, 2012 12:28 AM | 115 views | 0 | 3 | |
ATHENS — Georgia Rep. Paul Broun said in videotaped remarks that evolution, embryology and the Big Bang theory are “lies straight from the pit of hell” meant to convince people that they do not need a savior.
The Republican lawmaker made those comments during a speech Sept. 27 at a sportsman’s banquet at Liberty Baptist Church in Hartwell. Broun, a medical doctor, is running for re-election in November unopposed by Democrats.
“God’s word is true,” Broun said, according to a video posted on the church’s website. “I’ve come to understand that. All that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and Big Bang theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of hell. And it’s lies to try to keep me and all the folks who are taught that from understanding that they need a savior.”
Broun also said that he believes the Earth is about 9,000 years old and that it was made in six days. Those beliefs are held by fundamentalist Christians who believe the creation accounts in the Bible to be literally true.
Broun spokeswoman Meredith Griffanti told the Athens Banner-Herald that Broun was recorded speaking off-the-record to a church group about his religious beliefs.
He sits on the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology.
It seems unlikely that Broun’s remarks were supposed to be kept private. The banquet was advertised, Broun spoke before an audience and the video of his remarks was posted on the church’s website.

Here is another one. Are local republicans drinking out of stupid glasses or what? At the very least keep those opinions to yourself until after the election. Even if you are running unopposed you are making everyone else look stupid by association.Removing a single turd from the cesspool doesn't make any difference.

Guild Wars 2, Battlefield 3, League of Legends, IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 & Cliffs of Dover.... :) do you think that i have a strong chance for presidency? lolLove all, trust a few, do wrong to none; be able for thine enemy rather in power than use; and keep thy friend under thine own life's key; be checked for silence, but never taxed for speech.

I posted this and gave the thread the title because I honestly thought that in this specific case the Republicans were being incredibly dumb. You guys all know my opinion, I've repeated it quite a few times. I think all politicians are shite, I don't care what side of what imaginary line they stand on. This isn't a thread meant to bash the GOP in general, this was meant to bash the GOP for being morons on one specific topic. If you wanna turn it into a "politicians are morons" thread, you are more than welcome to.Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

How about hosting a Civ or Sim game with 2 players and make anyone who runs for as a candidates play it. The one who wins the gam wins the elections?
At least there wont be any he said she said, I thought this when saying that and similar political BS, only pure skill :whome:No such thing as a good tax - Churchill
