You can't reason with the insane. The kid clearly needed to be in a mental health facility but that option is no longer available and we have seen the consequences more than once as a direct result. BTW, How were the guns stored at the home? On the mantle? behind the door? in a safe? In a closet?. I haven't been able to find that info.
