Depends. You also have those that are party diehards but will vote against their party if they're really pissed off for some reason, and those that won't vote for either major party on principle alone. Just because those 20% won't knee-jerk vote Democrat or Republican, doesn't mean they can be persuaded to vote for one of the two major parties.
Actually I don't think there is really a 40-40-20 split. A significant portion of the independents are people who say they are independent but always vote for Democrats (*cough* Astralis *cough* ) or Republicans anyways. They just like to think of themselves as "independent".
The actual percentage of voters in play is possibly tiny. Maybe less than 10%.
Once again, you seem incapable of accepting anyone's version of the truth but yours. The Democrats have one version of stabilizing the economy, the Republicans another. So far, the Democrats' version hasn't worked too well. A rational person would say "OK, let's try the Republican's version". As a fanatic (and have no doubt, that's exactly what you are), you are of the view that it's the Democrats' way or the highway.
Kind of like Fox and Friends? That kind of idiotic? ;)
I honestly wouldn't know. I have no idea what Fox and Friends even is.
I don't have a television, I will never pay for cable/satellite unless there's a literal or figurative gun pointed at my head and the same holds true of watching Fox News. And to save you some trouble, I am not a Romney/Ryan supporter either.
Can you cope with those seeming contradictions?
So, like I said, using a political pundit, left or right, to prove your point smacks of quoting Mike Sparks when talking about armored vehicles.
“He was the most prodigious personification of all human inferiorities. He was an utterly incapable, unadapted, irresponsible, psychopathic personality, full of empty, infantile fantasies, but cursed with the keen intuition of a rat or a guttersnipe. He represented the shadow, the inferior part of everybody’s personality, in an overwhelming degree, and this was another reason why they fell for him.”
Well, if it weren't for people like me (and my wonderful little emoticons) this 'respectable board' would be chocked full of like minded sheeple thinking Romney was the Second Coming.
What kind of effing IDIOTS would think that a politician is the Second Coming of anything but yet another truckload of horseshit and lies?
Oh wait...

The problem seems to be that the team of advisers that Romney has already are all ex-Dubya cronies. It makes it apparent who he would put into his cabinet offices and in charge of things like cooking up a budget. And that's a really good deal for the middle class... (rolls eyes)
So...since you have done nothing but provide us rhetoric from MSNBC...give us one really compelling (and sensible) reason that Barry/Barrack should be re-elected. The answer cannot contain the words "hope," "change," nor any reference to George Bush, or any time before 21 January 2009. You must provide the answer based upon Barry/Barrack's record since 21 January 2009. The burden of proof is on you.

Next, we take the Alices on a trip through Wonderland.
You know, those two got picked off the sidewalk by the casting director I think - if I remember the story right they were walking a pet tiger or something.
This has got to be one of the funniest threads generated in some time. Right there with Top Ten Fighters.
We've truly been blessed of late. I feel fortunate to be a Wabbit.
