I suppose the EU -media have influenced their opinion on that one.

Do you believe the EU based media is pro-Obama?
Given the problems Europe is having in balancing its own checkbook, voting against the wishes of Europeans when it comes to economics seems like a better than plan the QE3.

    • dale,

asking YouTube to "check", getting the movie guy arrested, a U.S. General calling pastor "Koran Burner" and asking him to withdraw his support for the movie - as even a little bit heavy handed in the Land of the Free?
asking a company to check to see if their own guidelines were met-- interviewing a guy who was once suspected of being a meth cooker, of doing bank fraud, and of violating parole to check to see if he possibly violated it again-- a US general just CALLING the koran-burning pastor to beg for his assistance-- yeah, somehow i don't think this is the coming of fascism here in the States.

putting a hellfire on a US citizen (and Al-Qaeda leader) in yemen was more problematic from a Constitutional standpoint.

You keep leving out the fact the administration keeps wanting to blame the movie for a terrorist act rather than admit that there were multiple ad obvious warnign signs plus warnings from the Lybians that an attack was brewing. Instead the governments defense of free speech- the first right- has been lacking. Distateful as speech maybe, unless it actually seeks to incite violence or crime it is protected, or was until Obama got elected....

where does the administration do that? frankly, if there were 'multiple and obvious warning signs plus warnings from the Lybians', why didn't the Ambassador, the man on the ground, do anything to ensure the safety of his staff-- and himself? the Ambassador is the center of the in-country effort, and has access to intelligence plus military plus State assets.

the governments defense of free speech- the first right- has been lacking.
every single statement made by the administration emphasizes that there is absolutely no excuse for the violence. i really don't think an anodyne statement on how the USG is against denigration of religion means there's a lack of defense, or even an attack, on free speech rights.

to put it in another way, there is absolutely nothing that prevents a film-maker from making and releasing "Innocence of Muslims 2".

            1. We don't know what assets he requested if any
            2. he had two SEALs hired guards and the support of a local militia. He apprently died of smoke inhalation after locking/being locked in a room so his guards could defend others.
            3. The attacks and warning signs as well as verbal warnings are all over the news. This includes statements from the Lybian government and the friendly militia.

Except Youtube is on notice from the administration... kind of limits his potential audience and of course the efforts by the feds to arrest him and throw him back in prison. Technically legit or not they only went after him because of the film, not becuase of parole violations.

It's even more funny to look at the European economy. If Europeans like Barry/Barrack so much, then they are welcome to take him off our hands and let him fix Europe. We'll gladly try someone else...hopefully someone who knows something about economics.

Can he be born in USA and in EU at the same time?

                      • I just realized that I have not voted a democrat for president since 1992, and not a republican since 2000.

I have voted once each for the 2 major parties, and 3 times for libertarians.

One good thing about living in kommieland...I can vote my conscience.

I voted for Clinton in 92, I think I skipped 96, but in 2000 I voted straight Dem ticket. That was the last time I circled anything but an R or some sort of independent, as far as I can remember. I think the mayor of my city might be a Dem, but I mostly like things here so he gets my vote.

I have always studied the candidates and the issues and voted for the ones I thought would do a better job. In nearly every election I have voted 50/50 between the parties (since 1984) for the Senate, the House, Governor, mayor, etc. But not for the Presidential candidates. I have always voted for the Republican Presidential candidate, as I have not cared for the character of the democrat nominees (Clinton, Gore, Kerry, and Barry/Barrack). Once we oust Barry/Barrack, I will look at the candidates who are not (R) or (D).
