      The deadline was MONDAY. By your logic because Al Gore would be president today.

          Well he did win the popular votes, didn't he? In any other deocratic country popular vote would have been sufficient.

          But more importantly if only the partisan supreme court had not stopped counting of votes in Florida, Gore would still be president.
