Only his father dealt in real estate on the lower economic end and not in Manhattan. From that you can see why the Donald has always been into big flashy real estate projects. Yet, in the end he was never accepted into the New York elite and it was pretty much because they knew he was a pretender. Since then he has had this Jekyll and Hyde reaction to the elite. On one hand he hates them but on the other hand wants to be seen with them or see them grovel to him. He loved to be seen with sports stars and bask in some of their shine such as Ali. He now likes when Bezos and Zukerberg kiss up to him now. Yet at the same time likes to share in their shine by having them next to him. He may hate them but he still wants what they have. Jekyll and Hyde.

Sorry about Indiana. My take on the old elites is that they were mainly concerned with wealth and that was it. The new elites strike me as more interested in dictating how you are to behave and in what you are to believe. I can tell you those new elites would not like me. No one, but no one, tells me how to behave much less what my beliefs are at their risk. If I am liberal because I believe what you do in your house is your business, and that you have your own personal beliefs, be it abortion and religion then so be it.
Why do people think elites only contains business people? It's such a complete misunderstanding of how society works. Government elites have always been there and have always been interested in dictating how you are to behave and in what you are to believe.

I'm curious as to what some of these behaviors and beliefs that government elites were trying to dictate to me...

I must be dense as I have no complaints with anyone, not named trump, that has affected my life adversely which is why I said "name" them.

That Trump’s ego gets his knickers in a uproar when someone tells him “no”, is clearly seen in his controversy with Denmark over Greenland!
At his last time at bat, when Denmark said no to his offer to buy the island, his ego categorized the Danish PM’s no as being “nasty”!
This time at bat, the “no” is being categorized as “being unfriendly”!
But his smirking S.O.B., VP Vance has crossed the line!
Calling a friend and ally; whose soldiers, have fought; and yes, died side by side with the Americans in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria for “bad allies” is crossing the line!!!

Trump says US will ‘take over’ Gaza Strip and doesn’t rule out using American troops

              https://edition.cnn.com/2025/02/04/p...ing/index.html

Have to wonder if the two sides of Trump’s brain ever communicate with each other?
During his campaign, he very often reiterated that old American mantra about “staying out of foreign entanglements!”
Whether he believed it or not, he sold it to his adoring minions!
This is where a dichotomy arises…
Announcing that the USA will take over ownership; and send in troops to what is probably the most contentious area on the plane…the Gaza Strip!!! To disarm the local population; that will hate them like the pestilence!
Wonder if there are any of the old Vietnam “tunnel rats” still around. Their experience would be invaluable.

I'm sorry but didn't you have problems with Bush Jr's War against Saddam?

Trump’s plan for ‘hemispheric control’: Steve Bannon on why tariffs may only be the start

So there is a real strategy?
