The answer tells you a hell of a lot about a person.

“He was the most prodigious personification of all human inferiorities. He was an utterly incapable, unadapted, irresponsible, psychopathic personality, full of empty, infantile fantasies, but cursed with the keen intuition of a rat or a guttersnipe. He represented the shadow, the inferior part of everybody’s personality, in an overwhelming degree, and this was another reason why they fell for him.”

      • This one was updated by a reader to include:

"Tim Walz is the neighbor who helps your little sister study for her geography test. J.D. Vance is the neighbor who says your little sister will be hot in a few years. Donald Trump would date her if you weren't her brother. Matt Gaetz would date her now."

They’re either in very bad shape because they’ve been hit so many times by bullets or they’re dead."

          • If he'd just said "...the Presidential Medal of FreedomIt’s the (civilian) equivalent of the Congressional Medal of Honor" and shut his mouth? Most people would have just shrugged and moved on.
If you are emotionally invested in 'believing' something is true you have lost the ability to tell if it is true.

He'd certainly have been less wrong.

He has never been overly attached to reality, but he really appears to be decompensating in real time.

They know exactly what they're asking for.

Shit man, when I first saw that picture, I thought it was fake!
Actually having Trump nut-jobs proselytizing for a dictatorship! Then remembering a statement Trump made not long ago, it made sense, when he said that in four years people would no longer have to vote.
As I said it made sense, if you exchange “have to” with “able to”, as there would be no elections under a dictatorship
Some of his nut-jobs would probably be quite content to live under his “benevolent” rule. But how about the rest of Americans, losing what is the quintessential democratic right: One man (person!) one vote?
An add-campaign showing that picture and the statement should have quite an influence on the fence-sitters.

                        • Solid start to the Democratic convention with a few rising stars, Hilary lending a hand, Kamala making a surprise appearance and an emotional speech from Joe Biden. It could have done with a few edits, but that is forgivable under the circumstances. It was great to see him get such a joyous reception from the crowd. While he was never loved the way some predecessors & rivals were, history will be good to him & many Americans will thank him forever. Given all that has happened it would be understandable if Joe was bitter and resentful. Any sign of that in public could be damaging for Harris. Whatever his feelings, he gave her a ringing endorsement and really kicked things off in style.

Lets hope this continues her upward trajectory in the polls. This thing is a LONG way from done, but for now one side looks like winners & the other looks desperate and off balance.

Since the candidates who will be on the ballot have already chosen, the convention is just a political glee club. The real race starts after the post-convention honeymoon ends, maybe several weeks from now.

Sure, but the convention matters, especially given she has only been in the race for a month. She needs everything to go her way. A good convention is vital and a bad convention is potentially fatal - imagine the impact of massive protests and a clearly unhappy Biden. Him being firmly onboard is a plus. A positive buzz from the convention is another plus. She still has a LOT of work to do, but this does matter.
