Well, there goes "who has the biggest boobs" theory.

That's an entirely different proposition (possibly true), but it isn't what you said.

Same thing in the run up to the selection of Biden for 2020. And now here we are four years later and still nothing much to speak of talent wise. To me Dems are starting to look like some kind of invitation only private club with a closed membership book.
This is just wrong. If anything the past 6 years and Democrat successes downballot have finally given them a bench. You've got a collection of Governors people are high on. Contrast to Obama's time in office the party simply cratered losing elected officials up and down the ballot because Obama's Democratic Party didn't care about anyone that was not Obama (and Trump was the same with the Republicans).

I was pointing to basic group psychology i.e. if you start to believe your 'side' is going to lose no matter what you personally do you're less motivated to try (or in this case vote or donate etc). All Biden has to do is convince a small % of voters who might otherwise have been inclined to vote for him that he cant win no matter and it becomes a self fulfilling prophesy. And the same despondency can hit other members of the party as well reinforcing the likelihood of a loss. Bit like sports psychology, if your team think can't win the game it doesn't.

Imagine a train going full speed along the tracks, heading for a bridge, where it’s known that the underpinnings for the tracks have fallen away.
Now the most logical thing to do would be to stop, and change direction.
But the conductor repeatedly calmed everybody down by repeating, “I know it can! I know it can...”

That's the whole difference: one side doesn't believe in elections unless they win (much like in the old USSR), and the other is willing to lose.

Meanwhile the Democrats are shitting in their pants, all over media, about Biden now. Does this help their case? No. Instead of acting like cockroaches scattering every which way when the lights go on they need to act with one voice. The Republicans act with one voice and meanwhile the Democrats can't shut up their damn mouths for once and speak in a unified tone.
