“He was the most prodigious personification of all human inferiorities. He was an utterly incapable, unadapted, irresponsible, psychopathic personality, full of empty, infantile fantasies, but cursed with the keen intuition of a rat or a guttersnipe. He represented the shadow, the inferior part of everybody’s personality, in an overwhelming degree, and this was another reason why they fell for him.”

Throw the book at each and every one of them. I am not even close to advocating for the noose, but this needs to be shut down hard---starting with the stupid pompous fuck that threw gas into this tire fire of an election cycle."Draft beer, not people."

An explosive device is found at the R.N.C., and the D.N.C. is evacuated.
An explosive device was found at the headquarters of the Republican National Committee in Washington and the nearby headquarters of the Democratic National Committee was evacuated after the discovery of a suspicious package on Wednesday, according to three people briefed on the discoveries.
The device that was found at the R.N.C. was a pipe bomb that was successfully destroyed by a bomb squad, according to an official for the R.N.C.
The package at the D.N.C. has yet to be identified, according to a top Democrat briefed on the matter who was not authorized to speak publicly about it.
The R.N.C. and D.N.C. are headquartered just a few blocks away from the U.S. Capitol, which Mr. Trump’s supporters stormed on Wednesday afternoon soon as Congress had gathered to certify President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s victory and shortly after the president addressed the crowd near the White House.

Rudy Giuliani says pro-Trump rioters attacking US Capitol building are ‘on the right side of history’
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who led President Donald Trump’s legal efforts to overturn his defeat in the 2020 elections, said the president’s supporters violently rioting at the U.S. Capitol building were “on the right side of the law and history” in a tweet as the Senate chambers were evacuated on Wednesday.
The former mayor wrote on Twitter: “To all those patriots challenging the fraudulent election , POTUS wants you to EXPRESS YOUR OPINION PEACEFULLY.”
“We are the law and order party,” he added. “You are on the right side of the law and history. Act with respect for all.”
Mr Giuliani’s comments came as the president and others released similar statements calling for calm after the violent rioters had already breached security barricades and clashed with law enforcement before entering the Capitol building.

This is the same asshole that called for "trial by combat" just a few hours before.
Fuck you Rudy.“He was the most prodigious personification of all human inferiorities. The GOP Should Disband
The peaceful transfer of political power is a hallmark of democracy, right up there with free and fair elections. Prior to January 6, 2021, the United States of America honored that tradition, but now it seems that we do not.
Or, at least our President and his party do not fully embrace the concept. Six weeks before the election, President Trump refused to commit to handing over power in the event that he lost the election. Once that had happened, he and his collaborators began doing everything possible – sometimes even legally – to hold on to the power that the voters decided he should give up.
In 1801, after being defeated by Thomas Jefferson, President John Adams gracefully stepped aside. He did not lose the electoral college vote, which was tied. But, on the 36th ballot, the House of Representatives decided in favor of Jefferson, and President Adams accepted defeat.
For 220 years, no president has behaved improperly upon hearing the will of the people.
Until now.
Some, including Adams (and his son, John Quincy Adams) did not attend their successors' inauguration ceremonies. Yet, neither did they attempt to overturn the results through fraud, collusion, intimidation, lies, and violence.
Until now.
In September, the BBC reported this:
“Mr Trump was asked by a reporter on Wednesday evening if he would commit to a peaceful transfer of power 'win, lose or draw' to Mr Biden. The president currently trails his challenger in national opinion polls with 41 days to go until the election.
'I've been complaining very strongly about the ballots,' Mr Trump, a Republican, said. 'And the ballots are a disaster.'
When the journalist countered that 'people are rioting', Mr Trump interjected: 'Get rid of the ballots, and you'll have a very - you'll have a very peaceful - there won't be a transfer, frankly, there'll be a continuation.'”
“Stop the count” is the opposite of democracy.
“The only way we’re going to lose this election is if the election is rigged; remember that,” shows a staggering lack of faith in democratic institutions, and without a shred of evidence.
I have always voted Democrat, but never really thought the Republican Party was anti-democracy.
Until now.
Trust me?
I'm an economist!

Are Capitol Police really only that lightly armed? Seeing only pistols and pepper spray in pictures.
Our Parliamentary Police - about the same size as Capitol Police - would be out with submachine-guns about now, and that's considered light armament here in comparison to other police forces in the country.
