Gonna have to stop you right there. Really hate airing dirty laundry like this in public but you've finally pushed me to it.

In the hidden Moderators forum, there are at least 3 different threads, going back over 10 years, with your name on them, with dozens of posts, involving multiple staff members, all concerning your borderline and dog whistle anti-Semitism, which you've been suspended for, at least twice.

This isn't "Tinfoil", this isn't just me, this is your own post history and the opinion of the Board Staff. So before you start in on this bullshit (yet again), I suggest you check yourself before you wreck yourself.

Oh and speaking of "Tinfoil", you've had your fun. Don't use that or anything like it again in reference to me.

If you want to discuss this further, then PM me. If you feel you're being treated unfairly, send a PM to Albany Rifles.

      They apply to ALL.

Let's stick with facts. We can dispute each others sources without denigrating the person posting it.

If we all keep this up several threads are liable to be locked.

Keep it off the guardrails everyone.

That is certainly true for some, perhaps many, but not all. There are people I have encoutnered who I suspect just convince themselves that the fairly obvious anti-semitism tha tis increasingly evident on the right either isn't there or doesn't really matter....because the left....or something.

There is also a pretty high likelihood they dislike Islam even more. Thus Israel somehow becomes divorced from its Jewishness and more a 'Western' nation or 'US ally' in the fight against the savages.

The ability of people to tolerate mutually exclusive ideas is surprisingly common.

That statement was made by a sitting member of Congress.
OK Z, just a couple of points if you ever expect to get a meaningful reponse from me:

          1) Post like a grownup. If you want to refer to another poster then use their name, not some playground insult you made up;

          2) Don't lie to me. The internet exists. I can look stuff up. I can find out if you are accurately representing a statement someone made or not. I wouldn't piss on Rashida Tlaib if she was on fire, but what you presented is a blatant lie. You are intelligent enough to know that or to find out easily. Either you are deliberately lying or you are too lazy to take a minute to check. Neither option makes you worth engaging with.

Not a lie what she actually said. Here is the full quote. Her oh I meant something else wink wink was post hoc CYA. She had made similar comments multiple times. She is a raging antisemite.

There's kind of a calming feeling I always tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors, Palestinians, who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people's passports," Tlaib said.

Here is her statement in full:

“There’s kind of a calming feeling I always tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors, Palestinians, who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people’s passports,” Tlaib said.

She continued, “I mean, just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time, and I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways. But they did it in a way that took their human dignity away, right, and it was forced on them. And so when I think about a one-state, I think about the fact that, why couldn’t we do it in a better way?”

When asked whether advocating for a one-state solution could be seen as reckless, Tlaib replied, “No, I’m coming from a place of love, for equality and justice, I truly am.”

“I want a safe haven for Jews,” she added. “Who doesn’t want to be safe? I am humbled by the fact that it was my ancestors that had to suffer for that to happen, but I will not turn my back and allow others to hijack it and say that it’s some extremist approach because they’re coming from a place of… whatever it is… of division, inequality.”

In answer to BF, I call you tinfoil because of stuff like this. You refuse to consider that a conservative can be opposed to Soros because he is a leftist spending his money on leftist causes full stop . He can't just be a leftist. Nope, all opposition too him must be based on his ethno-religious heritage. But when an actual antisemite sits in Congress you are OK with it and try and cover for her. And I have never seen you confront anyone over opposition to Shapiro, Stein, Dershowitz because they are Jews. You are comfortable letting conservatives Jews just be conservatives without opposition to them being ipso facto evidence of antisemitism.

I have read the full quote and a transcript of the interview. The quote you offered is still incomplete, but the one you offered first is an outright lie. Did you really think I was so fucking stupid I wouldn't notice? You just can't take responsibility, can you.

                  This is the full quote:

Tlaib: Absolutely. Let me tell you — I mean, for me, I think two weeks ago we celebrated, or took a moment I think in our country to remember, the Holocaust. And there’s a kind of a calming feeling, I always tell folks, when I think of the Holocaust and the tragedy of the Holocaust in the fact that it was my ancestors — Palestinians — who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways had been wiped out, and some people’s passports — I mean, just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. Whatever that might be, it isn't support for the holocaust. You attempted to present it as such. That is a lie.

I am not going to insist that you own up to what you did because that clearly isn't going to happen. What I will insist on is that you not lie to me again. I don't care what you think of my opinions, but treat me like some dumbfuck 20 year old who can't spot an obvious lie and there won't be any reason for me to engage with you any further.

                  Up to you.

                  • She and Ilhan Omar share #5 (or did) in the top 10 worst antisemite's in the Western World per the Simon Weisenthal Center. She has tweeted barely veiled calls for the destruction of Israel, made multiple references to various antisemitic conspiracies and defended antisemites... So when she says thinking about the Holocaust makes her all warm and fuzzy I think all the kimbaya on either side of it is camouflage. Hence my comment about wink wink to CYA. I am not the only person who thinks that either.

As for stupid, I think assuming she has any kind thoughts towards any Jews is stupid. Antisemitism among Palestinians is de rigor and has been for more than a hundred years.

Just to be clear, at this point the discussion isn't about Rashida Tlaib's opinions, it is about what you choose to present directly to me to support your contentions. You made the discussion about that when you presented a quote so heavily redacted that it presented a completely & deliberately false impression of what she said. The fact that it was so obviously a lie makes it worse. Implying that I am in any way suggesting she likes Jews just doubles down on your refusal to accept responsibility for what you posted by trying to make this about something I have neither said, implied or thought.

This would all be much easier if you just owned up to the lie & moved on. Instead you are just digging a deeper hole.

I think both she & Omar are embarassments to the Democratic party & the US Congress and I don't have the slightest interest in defending them. The sooner they leave Congress the better for America. However, a lie is a lie, even about a bad person. If the evidence is so clear all you ever had to do was present it, rather than an embarassingly obvious lie.

The Atlantic link you posted accurately and correctly takes her out to the woodshed for her shitty grasp on history.

However at no point does it accuse her of supporting the Holocaust

...or accuse of her of saying that the Holocaust is what makes her feel warm and fuzzy

...or accuse her of giving a CYA wink wink wrapped in kumbaya camouflage.

                        • Rep. Tlaib supports using sanctions to compel Israel to change its policies toward Palestine and Israelis of Arab decent. She (quite correctly) called Israel an apartheid state. Note that no one has accused her of making statements against the Jewish faith.

Predictably, the rapid-reaction forces labeled her anti-Semitic

Rep Tlaib has criticized Saudi Arabia's human rights, and their war on Yemen.
Predictably, no one has labeled her anti-Muslim for those actions.

I am not pro- or anti-Israel, but anyone who thinks that State is blameless is a fool.

                          • It gets better ...

GW Bush apparently appointed a communist as special advisor on domestic regulatory policy in his Treasury Dept, if Marco Rubio has any credibility at all.
                            Oh, never mind.

Saule Omarova knows more about communism than Sen. Rubio or any of the other right wing-nuts that throw around ideological slurs like they were spewing actual facts. The Cornell professor's father was sent to Siberia under the Stalin regime.

In typical wacko fashion, Dr Omarova did not, in actual fact, propose any of the nonsense Sen. Rubio says she advocated. But, he'd have to have actually read the scholarly papers she wrote to know that, and you know, reading dense, intellectual stuff is, you know, hard.

And, unlike Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana, the Kazakh double doctor (political science and law) isn't an American citizen by an accident of birth. She chose to be one.

As for Tlaib, she has retweeted calls for the destruction of Israel and defended others who called for the destruction of Israel. She has an extensive history of antisemitic comments most recently her comment back in August about a secret cabal controlling the world.
