        • You got some new shining guns?

I remember the Glock and the Taurus were reported, but the first two are new to me ;)

          • The Taurus is in the United States. The Glock in Israel. The Barak in Ukraine. To avoid bureaucratic headaches, I won't specify where the Jericho and the Kimber are located.

              • With the right magazine that would make a good "street sweeper".
Removing a single turd from the cesspool doesn't make any difference.

                • An A2 style rear sight, is of 'great' value on a shotgun?! Looks like the damn knob fell of that particular Turkish turd.

                  • Took the kids on a field trip to a couple local gun stores. Found two interesting prospects - one 16ga side by side shotgun, and one CZ-52. I've got trading stock to pick up one of them, and I'm going nuts trying to figure out which one. (I know, get both - that ruins the decision process). The shotgun is of more utility to me, I'm planning on trading out an over under 12 ga. I don't like the feel of the o/u and to me a 12ga is boring. I keep a couple, but that is more for "social" purposes than "sporting".
The CZ on the other hand, is one of those commie guns that I've always liked and always wanted to get. The roller locking by itself makes it interesting and the flash-bang makes a great range toy.

I'll do like always - I'll think on it and think on it, and then go to another store and leave with a .38 or something..

                    • An old .38 Special, Colt Official Police (mine is a mint 1930's example built on the I frame, same as the Python) or a K frame Smith & Wesson would be hard to beat. The CZ would be novelty and the 16 gauge would be pain to source ammunition.

                      • Actually - 16ga ammo isn't THAT hard to find for birds. For deer (shotgun only state) it is tough, but when I find it I just get a case.
I always liked the official police models. I've got a 4" K frame for cold weather, a J frame model 60 for hot weather and a 6" K frame Taurus copy for the woods (actually a .357).
The 2 S&Ws are old enough to drink, and have the firing pin on the hammer, where it should be. I don't look for "pre-lock" Smiths, I look for pinned barrels or hammer mounted pins, back when QC was good. I still get excited when people say they bought a new M&P, then disappointed to see an auto.

                        • Come on, do not compare a Tauraus revolver to a K frame S&W. My 1930's Colt OP is the early type with firing pin on the hammer. I have a couple pinless 1980's K Frames that smooth out nicely with some Wolff Springs.

                          • Why does everyone on the internet hate Taurus? (And Glocks?) I'm sorry, but the Taurus 66 is a clone of the S&W Model 19, at a heck of a discount. Now, I'll give S&W the nod for better quality 1980's and before - but the more recent stuff out of Springfield, keep it.

I bought a Bodyguard .380 and it was junk. Worse than that, I dealt with the S&W Store (I live close to Springfield) and the company when I needed a repair, and found everyone I dealt with to be rude, unhelpful and would go out of their way to be difficult.

I've only looked at their Beretta copies a couple times, but they seemed well made to me.

I've got nothing for Glocks. Never fired one, never owned one, never considered one. I know they eat everything and are dead nuts reliable. No hate for them, I find them lukewarm.

                            • A Taurus looks like a S&W on the outside. Take the side plate off, and it is a whole different animal.
I happen to own a Taurus single action revolver, I own a few Glocks too.
