Sorry for the low quality of the pics, but the guns are in the basement for safety reasons as I have 4,5 y/o kid at home and better safe then sorry ;)

You know how the saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Guns have reached a plateau, like you said. There are some revolution in design but they didn't get popular because they are not "leaps and bounds" over what we currently have. Caseless ammo really isn't all that. OICW is too complex for battlefield use. The ROI is too low. Look at the proposed replacement for the legendary Ma Deuce. They look neat and are lighter, but they do essentially the same thing. M2 has been working well for over 70 years so why change it for minimal gain?

The next thing people are working on is the concept pioneered by Russians in the 1990s...forgot the name...ultra burst? It is to fire 2 to 3 rounds out of a rifle before the recoil impulse of the 1st round is transmitted to the shooter. US Army is interested in this concept. Then again, the Pentagon is interested in all gadgets and gizmos.

Optics only affect rifles. Polymer frame impact sidearms way more. Since I don't care much for polymer frames, you are correct in that optics affect me more than polymer.

I have 2 Glocks and that's enough for me. However I can't seem to have enough metal guns.

Your 3 pistols are all on my "want" list. So far I have a P38 made in 1960, not as authentic as yours. Yours looks like an early 1940 model.

I would love to get my hands on a Luger P08. After that, or before, I don't care, a Mauser C96.

          • gunnut is your sig sport version? IIRC should hold 15 round in the mag and have adjustable rear sight.

BTW, my dad who has more gunpowder in the earshells then anyone else says sig is the Rolls of guns ;)

Well if something brings you over here sometimes the shooting yard is near. Hope I will bring them in better condition by then as the tubes are shitty on both (Walther is worse). The Luger tho is tip top.

All my Sigs are plain jane version, no adjustable sights, no fancy material or engraving, and definitely not tuned. Two of them have night sights and a 3rd one with dead night sights. I do have aluminum grips on 3 of them. I might have posted a picture of them earlier in this thread.

                      • Hey, I was a platoon marksman and then the Company CO's marksman/radio operator. We did plenty of infantry work too. My personal record as a marksman on the range is 527 meters head shot on a windy night.

I got this one at a gunshow, NIB, $380 cash, out the door. I guess I did OK on that. First and only time i got to shoot so far, was about two hours ago getting rid of a possum in the back yard. Hes dead, one shot, it must work OK. Range report hopefully next sunday.

Dealer I bought it from owns two and i talked to another dealer that has one. they said it feeds everything, but that is to be expected AFAIC.

                            Any probs with yours?

only problems I have had is ammo too old to function well, over 20 years old, new stuff works fine. It is a fun gun to shoot, the fixed sights were/are spot on.;)

It's hard to miss whole shooting range from 527m
