this was outside the shooting range, just basic weapon familiarization (unloaded, of course). i took a picture of her with the shooting glasses, but she refuses to give them to me because "it's not flattering"...

          gunnut,

          Where's the rifle?
sitting in my closet right now. i just got a red dot sight for it, so i need to mount that and make sure everything is properly zero'd out. afterwards i'll take a picture of the whole spiel.

winnie wants a rifle grip for it as well, although honestly the thing is so lightweight and has almost no recoil whatsoever that i think it is a bit superfluous.

          • Am I the only one to question the wisdom of teaching your significant other how to use guns? Unless you can outrun a speeding bullet I think this is a very dangerous idea.

IF a person has any doubts at all - I wouldn't do it... But I am teaching my Daughter - she would never shoot her dad - I will bet my life on it (and that is the case when you teach someone to shoot).

I think you're the only one whom had multiple psycho exes with the desire to do grave bodily harm to you.

I can see where your concern comes from, but you are also not normal.

i am of the belief that if the significant other REALLY wishes to do you harm, a bullet might just be merciful...

Have her move her forward hand and grip the magazine well.

But then again, the better half usually get what they want

Now that I can understand (father teaching his daughter), it is just from the perspective of the theoretical boyfriend that it worries me. I mean I don't really have a problem with a gun in the hand of a responsible and reasonable person...it is just that my girlfriends never fit into that category.

uh..doesn't that depend on her aim?

I taught my wife to shoot when I first met her, then we moved onto guns :whome:

I recently treated myself to one of these.

TBH apart from the small size I haven't been all that impressed with it to date, the front sight post is off to the left, so I bought a new gas tube with integral metal picatiny rails (3) and put my Eotech 512 on it. I'm now awaiting a laser bore sighter to dial it in, as the three attempts on the range have ended with me scratching my head asking WTF.

Any of you AK fans any advice for me???
