Do they shoot better... or just look prettier, hm?
I haven't tried it yet. The grips came in 9 days ago and I haven't had a chance to go to the range. I might go this coming weekend since I don't have anything planned yet and it's a long weekend.
All I have to say is the very first shot out of this pistol was a bullseye. I mean dead center on target.

Well, you guys are lucky you live in a country with liberal ideas. Owning rifles is banned in India and we can buy only a pistol provided we prove that we are under threat. Balls, otherwise. The reason being, when India was under the British rule, the Britishers didn't want people to have arms that could be used against them. The stupid government still follows that rule, as the ministers are too lazy to have a look at the liberal scenario in the world today.
This is the reason for us to have the 2nd Amendment. We don't trust the government. We want to make sure we have something to use against it.

:matrix:Started trying to do double taps, last week at the indoor range, and sucked at it, So since I needed more practice, I figured I would be better off shooting .22s instead of .45 acp, much cheaper. most of my .22s are target guns, the only real plinker was the Taurus .22 revolver. I decided that since I wanted a .22 semi auto plinker, one that was of the same dimensions and style of a 1911 would be good. Since even most basic .22 pistols are over 300 dollars, 359 didn't seem to outrageous for a pistol. So I bought the Sig Sauer 1911-22, size is the same as a regular 1911, just a little on the light side when it comes to wieght. Can't wait to shoot it, although it will be this coming Wednesday. :matrix:
I just picked up my Walther P38. It was made in February of 1960, refurbished in 1981 by German arsenal. Matching serial number on slide, frame, and barrel. The frame rail looks prestine. There are some nicks and scratches on the edges and there is some holster wear, but it's in overall excellent condition for something made in 1960 and has seen police service.
I will post some photos later.
No, I haven't shot it yet. Might go this weekend to test it along with my Sig P226 that just came back from the factory for service.
There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."- Isaac Asimov
If I hada billion dollars - I'd be playing with them today (my guess is they would bring well over the stated price of 5M$) - note: these aren't fire arms, they just look like it, no way to shoot them - they are exquisite works of art - I would say they haven't been surpassed in workmanship in the ~200 years since they were invented.
Thanks Tankie - that little clip added some wonder to my day:)
