It will be interesting if they will still keep LHA-8 as an LHA since it will have a welldeck.
So far that still does seem to be the case, and I would be curious to know the logic as to why USN has designated PCU Bougainville (LHA-8) as the third ship in the USS America (LHA-6) class rather than as the first ship in a new class of LHD regardless that PCU Bougainville is significantly different from LHA-6 and LHA-7.
