Russia to Host 2006 Joint Exercises With India, NATO — Defense Minister

Russia to Host 2006 Joint Exercises With India, NATO — Defense Minister

Russia will hold joint anti-terrorist exercises in 2006 on its territory, together with NATO and India, the Russian defense minister said on Monday.

Speaking at a briefing on the results of his visit to India, Sergei Ivanov was quoted by RIA-Novosti as saying “the Indian armed forces have agreed to the proposal to hold anti-terrorist training with the participation of special forces of several NATO states, Russia and India.”

Ivanov added that the United States, the UK and France had been invited to participate in the exercises.

Speaking on joint U.S.-Indian exercises, Ivanov said they posed no threat to Russia. “Russia also cooperates no only with India,” he said. “I think that India does not experience a threat either from Russian cooperation with the United States.”

Though most of these countries have held bilateral exercises between the special forces, this would be for the first time that such a large scale war game would be held assuming significance against the backdrop of rising threat of urban terorrism.
    Hmmm..

What source might I ask, did you get that from?
