The antenna is angled so as not to reflect a signal back to the emitter.
LPI modes operate below the threshold of any fighter RWR out there today. The Raptor is in visual range before it is picked up on radar or detected by RWR.

AMRAAM only goes active in the final few km's. So it's seeker won't trigger a RWR until it is well within the NEZ."We will go through our federal budget – page by page, line by line – eliminating those programs we don’t need, and insisting that those we do operate in a sensible cost-effective way." -President Barack Obama 11/25/2008

No, it's guided by INS with datalink updates. If the target is not maneuvering, it doesn't even need updates.
Also, any AC can provide targeting info and updates, it doesn't need to be the launch platform."We will go through our federal budget – page by page, line by line – eliminating those programs we don’t need, and insisting that those we do operate in a sensible cost-effective way." -President Barack Obama 11/25/2008

This discussion reminds me of the vietnam war.
In vietnam, the USAF and USN both claimed that they would win air superiority because of the technical superiority of their planes (f-4, f-105, ...) and the ability to hit them before the enemy could even detect them (better radar and weapons).
I think everybody knows the rest of the story....

mig lover....technology alone doesnt guarantee victories....But US has a better aircraft, better radar, better missles, damn good pilots, can be deployed anywhere [bases all over] and their maintenance and budget is huge....also they have SO many aircraft that an air war against them can only end in one thing - Loss
I been researching on the plasma stealth tech and i dont think its that far away and can at least be partially used on PAK-FA....

Upgrades and Expand Capabilities for F/A-22 Raptor
Upgrades and Expand Capabilities for F/A-22 Raptor

SAN DIEGO: Northrop Grumman Corporation has begun work on an F/A-22 modernization program that will add capabilities to the aircraft's communications, navigation and identification (CNI) system to enhance network-centric operations for the next-generation, air-dominance fighter weapon system.
The CNI avionics are being developed by the Radio Systems business of Northrop Grumman's Space Technology sector, under contract to Lockheed Martin. When fully developed, the system will enable numerous critical CNI functions for the F/A-22.
A key concept in the U.S. Department of Defense's vision for the future is network-centric warfare, which links sensors, communications systems and weapon systems in an interconnected grid that allows for seamless information flow to warfighters, decision makers and support personnel.
To support this vision, Northrop Grumman's F/A-22 modernization program will ensure that the CNI architecture is compliant with the requirements of the Joint Tactical Radio System program. Northrop Grumman will also add Link-16 capability to the CNI system. Link-16 is a tactical data link that provides greater situational awareness through the jam-resistant transfer of voice and data between battle participants.

Yes, they're pretty sure it was a Bo 105."There is never enough time to do or say all the things that we would wish. The thing is to try to do as much as you can in the time that you have.
