My apologies for MIA recently. I noted that the DPRK related topics are getting hot recently and here are some of my contributions, hopefully you will find them useful.

To start: The top major PLA development of recent years is that are no more Armor divisions, they were all divided into two -- one armor brigade and on mech infantry division. Tank formations of the DPRK border facing military regions received the greater hit by this reform. They also received the greatest share of the new toys, greater then the Taiwan facing military regions. I don't have an update orbat because everything is WIP.

190th Heavy Mechanized Infantry Brigade, 39GA, Shenyang MR, a regional RRU.

It was one of the two outfits that was divided up from the 3rd armor division. All the cool stuff ended up with the newly created 3rd armor brigade (Type99 MBT, HQ16 SAM, 155mm SP How, etc)
