  • Stratfor credit card details hacked

Private global intelligence agency Stratfor is red-faced after hackers got behind its firewall and gained access to the credit card details and names of thousands of paying subscribers.
Stratfor charges for analysis by its group of US-centric global intelligence analysts, some with backgrounds in government and military intelligence-gathering, and is widely used by governments, multi-national businesses and media.
Fairfax Media reports Stratfor clients in New Zealand include Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Air New Zealand, the New Zealand Police and Fire Service, ANZ and BNZ banks.
U.S. subscribers include Apple, the U.S. Air Force and the Miami Police Department.
A hacking movement known as "Anonymous" has claimed responsibility for stealing credit card numbers and other personal information belonging to the company's clients.
Hackers have reportedly taken money from individuals' accounts to donate as Christmas presents and some people have confirmed unauthorised activity on their credit cards.
Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet spokesman Maarten Wevers said the department would expect Stratfor to improve security and would be keeping an eye on its account.
Check those credit card statements gents.....
In the realm of spirit, seek clarity; in the material world, seek utility.
